The 12 Days of Ice Cream has finally arrived, so let the celebration begin! Just to recap, we’ll be posting a new blog entry every day in the 12 days leading up to Christmas and each day will feature a prize which will be given away to one comment chosen at random from that entry. Why? Because we love ice cream and the holiday and giving stuff away!
For new readers (welcome!), you can sign up to have new Ice Cream Journal entries delivered right to your in-box by entering your email address in the “Subscribe” field in the right hand sidebar. That way, you don’t have to remember to come back and visit us every day and you’ll never miss an entry!
To get us all warmed up and in the commenting mood, we’ll end this entry with a question for everyone:
As an ice cream lover, what’s on your holiday wish list this year?
TODAY’S PRIZE: It’s only fitting that the Ice Cream Journal give away on the first day of ice cream an… ice cream journal! That’s exactly what this hand made creation is called, and one comment chosen at random from this entry will win this prize. Good luck!

P.S. – Don’t forget to stop by the Ice Cream Journal this Wednesday evening between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. for our second Ice Cream Journal Ice Cream Party! The theme for this party is Turkey Hill seasonal flavors (Egg Nog or Ginger Snap), but feel free to bring a bowl of whatever flavor you like. From 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, we’ll all meet here on the blog and chat via the comments about the flavors. We’ll also have some trivia contests with prizes (free ice cream). See you then!

Everytime we buy ice cream in our house, my mother-in-law cannot resist, however she tries to blame it on a mouse and although the “mouse” has its favorites, the mouse always chooses to remove all the chocolate ice cream from the chocolate peanut butter cup, leaving the peanut butter behind. We know better, thouigh. Mice love peanut butter, so why would they choose to leave that behind?

make every day like christmas and thanksgiving by keeping apple dumpling ice cream all the time-it is like sharing a slice of love everyday with your family.
A year’s supply of ice cream, like a couple of containers of the monthly flavors, monthly! What a great treat that would be! Yummeeee!
I love your Raspberry Chocolate Chunk ice cream-it reminds me fondly of my college days when I would walk by the school’s dairy store after class and get a cone of Raspberry Chocolate Chip ice cream!! A box of ice cream cones and Turkey Hill Ice Cream. Yum!
I’m really upset with having to ration my Turkey Hill consumption now that I’m diagnosed with diabetes. That tiny serving of no sugar added just doesn’t seem fair. So, my wish would be to have a truly sugar and carb free Turkey Hill in each of the best flavors.

When we moved from PA to FL, I sadly discovered that Turkey Hill ice cream is not sold down here. None of the brands sold here come close to the creamy delicious taste of Turkey Hill. When we visit relatives in PA, one of our first stops is Wegman’s to stock up on Turkey Hill ice cream. Then, later in the week we go back for more. I LOVE TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM!!!!!
Hope I get a new freezer stocked with Eggnog ice cream!
I wish for a never ending supply of chocolate mint chip ice cream!

Love to win so I can journal all my ice cream loves…coffee, chocolate, etc. My fav ice cream and love it when on sale….Happy Holiday’s!!!!!
Turkey Hill vanilla bean ice cream is so smooth and creamy that I use it in my coffee in place of milk or cream. I always have some on hand to eat or to use in my coffee.
I love turkey hill icecream
Brownie Explotion litterally saved my LIFE once!
For Christmas, I want to eat ice cream while relaxing on a nice vacation!
The ice cream journal is a cool prize. I can’t believe Christmas is only 12 days away…
I’m absolutely addicted to everything Turkey Hill. Since my sister in law lives nearby, we’re planning to make a trip to visit this summer. It will bring me such joy to visit! I love your chocolate and neopolitin. I stick with my two favorites but will step out for the “seasonal” flavors as well.
“All I want for Christmas is my….refrigerator filled with Turkey Hill ice cream”!!!! Love em ALL!!
Nothing is better than sitting down for a movie with a container of ice cream – it is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
Sitting in the dark looking out at the neighbor’s sparkling Christmas lights while eating ice cream. Life is good.
I live 1 block from a turkey hill. I have to always save room for 2 half gallons of TH Ice cream in my freezer. I like to keep one half gallon of vanilla bean so that I can make it into what ever I feel like having. I have all kinds of toppings to add to it. Then the I have one more half gallon in freezer which is usually the flavor of the month. Just sitting here writing about it makes me want to get a bowl right now. Turkey Hill ice cream is the best and on that note I am heading to the freezer for a bowl of Vanilla bean.
My husband and I are late in life newlyweds and we love to spend a Friday night together sharing a bowl of creamy delicious Turkey Hill ice cream. Usually the feature flavor; boy do we miss Swiss Vanilla Almond! I would like to put matching ice cream bowls under our Christmas tree this year!
all i can say is:more turkey hill
ice cream please.
It was a dark and stormy night, and my soul sunk as I stared at the empty container before me. My Ginger Snap was gone! But luckily the Dynamic Duo was there to help! To be continued…
What can I say, Turkey Hill is the Best!!
What’s on my Wish List? A sudden appearance of Pina Colada as the feature flavor. Dreams can come true!
I’m wishing for a snow-filled Christmas with my family, so that we can stay in and enjoy some Turkey Hill!
I wish that someone would make me the 4 final recipes to sample…
Thank you Turkey Hill for keeping the Christmas season enjoyable with great recipes.
I love turkey hill ice cream!!!
I’m hoping to enjoy a bowl of Touchdown Sundae as I watch the Eagles win the SuperBowl!
I wish that I could find more of your seasonal flavors down here in Laurel, MD. They either get down here late or not at all!
I told my husband that I hadn’t had a proper banana split in many years, and this Christmas he has offered to make me one.I think I’ll keep him!
What a wonderful way to keep track of all my favorite ice cream flavors!
your ice cream is delicious. esp like chocolate/marshmallow and many of the seasonal ice creams
My holiday wish list includes having my son get his number one college pick admissions letter with a full tuition scholarship thrown in. And, to keep my nerves at bay, I’m totally going to flip between bowls of Rocky Road (symbolism there for sure!), and some Eggnog Ice Cream to add a little ho-ho-ho to my worries that the letter will say no-no-n0…
For Christmas I would love to find a new ice cream scooper in my stocking since my 6 year old always just throws it in the sink when he’s done and it ended up getting all pitted and black from sitting in water.
We love your Ice Cream Products. We have at times had 5 containers in the freezer at one time. Hard to choose a favorite. Keep up the good work!
Turkey Hill Ice Cream, the true nectar of the gods!!!
A special ice-cream with magical powers that would make my hip infection go away. This walker and the inability to drive is really making me sad.
I am giving my Mom a refrigerant-filled ice cream scoop. Your hand warms it, and you can scoop hard ice cream – usually. I bought mine from a fancy in-home-show catalog years ago but just found one at a discount store. As a Christmas wish, I’d like the Death By Chocolate flavor to return at some point next year.
Of course ice cream is on my holiday list!!! Yum, yum, eat’em up!
Happy Holidays Everyone
Welcome to all of our new readers! There’s a lot of great holiday wishes here. We hope everyone gets what they want this year.

On my wish list is to get back to Pennsylvania and a delicious bowl of Turkey Hill Extreme Cookies and Cream.

Each month I look for the the new flavor releases and try to get each one at least once. The are always a treat for the tasre buds.
I could journal about my ice cream adventures…how sweet!
On the 8th day God must have created chocolate chip ice cream. Why can’t Turkey Hill do likewise (and I don’t mean that “Lite” version)?
lets hope turkey hill starts making spumoni
I am reading these comments while drinking a cup of hazelnut coffee and thinking how good it would be to float a scoop of eggnog ice cream in it! Alas I have none, only vanilla and rocky road, so a trip to the store is in order soon.
Great!
I tend to sneak downstairs, grab the ice cream and eat right out of the carton. I have tile floors in my kitchen, so my wish this year is for new slippers so that my feet stay warm. Only downside is that I’ll probably eat more ice cream….my cold feet tend to be the motivation to rush back to bed.
Some nice new ice cream bowls, and spoons along with some fixings for my ice cream would be wonderful this years.
Why not make white chocolate mousse and just put TCBI out of business once and for all.
Happy days are here again Egg Nog
ice cream has arrived. My wish for
Christmas has been granted.
Ok…Who ate my Vanilla Peanut Butter Swirl???? If I had a journal, I could write it in my journal entry…
Loving the German Chocolate Cake flavor this week. That’s a keeper Turkey Hill.
My husband’s addiction to Turkey Hill could be journaled in this adorable book!Of course he would also keep track of his catches of his other addiction, fishing. You have the best products on earth.
Coffee ice cream!!
egg nog ice cream!
It’s a Graham Slam any time of the year! I carted 4 gallons of this PA Gold back to Ohio this summer for my family reunion and scooped it all in Ice Cream Cones in about 20 minutes. The only sad note, they can’t purchase it in Ohio since it’s Phillies logoed. Yum, Yum, Yum!
The journal is absolutely adorable! Makes me want some ice cream but it’s a little too early in the morning yet.
Would love the journal! Will get egg nog this week and try it!

Am trying to find the Turkey Hill Eggnog and no luck so far; but I will keep trying. That is an awesome journal.
Has anyone found the TH eggnog yet?
I had moved away from the area a number of years ago and didn’t realize just how much I missed Turkey Hill Ice Cream until I moved back. Love It!
It is cold enough here for Santa to just leave a couple half gallons of egg nog on the porch and we could get a couple of spoons and sit out there and eat until we pass out!!!
I love the choc. marshmellow. I have kept a journal for years and this would be a cute one for next year
Why can’t we buy your coffee ice cream in Pittsburgh???
A great way to keep track of all the flavors.
My daughter is coming home from Korea this Thursday for 2 weeks. One of the things she said she always looks forward too is the fact she knows there will be Turkey Hill Mint Choco Chip Ice Cream in our Freezer. And…. guess what? It is there this time, AS ALWAYS!
I need a new ice cream bowl. All I have are small cereal bowls and those just don’t cut it once you factor in toppings!
Love the blog! Loving the Rum Raisin ice cream.
that journal is so cute!
I love the idea of “Twelve Days of Ice Cream”– there should be a song! And, it would be great to keep track of all of my ice cream occasions in a journal–I would be able to rate the flavors and never forget new ones!
When my daughter was in college at State College, PA Hagan Daz had a big on campus ice cream shop. It was there that I first found their coffee ice cream and it became my favorite turning down any other then I came here to the Poconos and the nearby store didn’t carry Hagan Daz so my son got me Turkey Hill coffee. I almost made him take it back but decided to give it a try and boy was I ever wrong, Turkey Hill coffee ice cream beats Hagan Daz by a country mile. It is so good it stands alone but marry it to some marshmallow fluff and it becomes one of life’s things to die for.
I love the 12 days of Christmas, and I vote for egg nog over ginger snap.
My freezer is full of Turkey Hill, cause this month I celebrate all my birthdays. My grandmother,my husband, my father, my mother, 2 of my 3 daughters-in-law, my grandson, and 3 nephews and 1 niece. We celebrate from the 5th to the 29th.
I have “NOT” seen Turkey Hill Egg Nog &
Ginger Snap Ice Cream at my local stores
yet! WHY!!!!
Santa, will you bring me an ice cream journal for Christmas? Please?
I LOVE turkey hill ice cream. I shop mostly with coupons but never seem to find them. The other brands give them out. I would certainly always buy if I had coupons. Gotta save money!

I love these Ideas, My 5 year old son loves you egg nog ice cream what a nice holiday treat, Thank you
Turkey Hill Ice cream is the best & I could eat it every day….This year I asked Santa to make Turkey Hill Limited Edition Coconut Cream Pie Ice cream a regular flavor, because my family thinks I am crazy when I drive around the state from store to store looking for it & when i find it I buy at least 10 1/2 gal containers to last me the year…but its never enough….I always need more!!!!! I LOVE TH COCONUT CREAM PIE ICE CREAM
Turkey Hill has the ice cream that you can taste the freshness in every spoonful. I enjoy looking at the Turkey Hill calendar and take advantage of the coupons at the back. Love Turkey Hill!!
maybe we can add on a few more days!!
It’s never to late to jump in the ice cream game…in fact, I’m eating extra ice cream right now to make up for the late entry. Chocolate chip cookie dough light version (the one in the light blue box). I swear, I would never guess it is low fat ice cream because the flavor is phenomenal, and the little chocolate shaved pieces melt in your mouth, yum! I love the cute looking ice cream journal with this entry…and especially that each of the ice cream cones is wearing a smile.
Also, on a side note…I did not know that Turkey Hill had a “Ginger Snap” flavor. Even if it is seasonal as listen in this entry, it has never been stocked at the grocery store by me.
I am eager to try this new flavor… I wish I could do some holiday traveling…or maybe it will come to a store near me soon!
How cool is that tie. I loved it! Thanks for pointing it out.
The best ice-cream in the world it doesn’t make you thirsty after you eat it. My husband lovessss the flavor that I can’t find the flavor I can’t find anymore so I buy them individual now. Please help me find vanilla/chocolate/butterpecan in New Jersey again.
FORGET ALL THE REST….TURKEY HILL IS THE BEST!!
I love Turkey Hill Ice Cream as do the other 8 members of my family.
When I was growing up just after WWII there was a sandwich shop/ice creeam parlor in our neighborhood. One of the things they made were Awful Awfuls. A gigantic milkshake made with milk and whatever ice cream you wanted and a secret ingredient that we never knew. If you drank one your second one was free and on the wall was an honor roll posted nameing those few who actually drank two of them. It was a short list. I would love to know what the secret ingredient was and how to make them if anyone out there knows. I would make it with either Turkey Hill coffee or chocolate ice cream.
i want an HP touch PC.
Well, in a perfect world, I’d like a house… But some ice cream would be nice too.
good writing
As an ice cream lover, what’s on your holiday wish list this year? A Year’s worth of ice cream (12 coupons).
Ice Cream is on my wish list this year!
When I was growing up in the 40′s most ice cream was sold in pints mainly because ice cream was a treat not an everyday food like it is today. Ice cream socials and ice cream after church on Sundays was very popular. Just about every drugstore had a soda fountain which sold sundaes and ice cream sodas and milk shakes. One really popular drink was a root beer float and one of my favorite ice cream treats were called banjos, vanilla ice cream on a stick coated with chocolate. I have good memories of ice cream as a child but I also know that the ice cream we had in those days was no where near the quality and veriety that Turkey Hill has today.
As an ice cream lover, what’s on your holiday wish list this year?
One of those great scoops with the silicone thumb push out the scoop place on it…
Now I can keep track of all the great Turkey Hill flavors.
Just a note to wish all of you including the great folks that make Turkey Hill a happy Christmas and New Years.
I missed a few days because of the snow. How to make snow Ice cream is fascinating.
