It’s 8 pm and the party has officially begun! Hopefully everyone has a bowl of either Turkey Hill’s Limited Edition holiday flavors (Egg Nog or Ginger Snap) or another Turkey Hill flavor.
If you’re here, say hello to the group by leaving a comment. Don’t forget to refresh your page often to read new comments and be on the lookout for trivia questions from members of the Turkey Hill Team. Until then, here’s a few questions to get the party started:
1. What’s your all time best ice cream memory?
2. If you could only eat one flavor of ice cream for the rest of your life, what flavor would you choose? (We know, it’s scary to think that you can only have one flavor.)
3. Chocolate syrup on chocolate ice cream: Overkill or just what the doctor ordered?

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
Hello everyone. Let the ice cream party begin! If you’re here, say hello and let everyone know what flavor ice cream you’re enjoying!

Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! Chocolate marshmallow, Moose Tracks, Chocolate peanut butter cup, and on and on ……
I am so excited to be here. I love Turkey Hill! My favorite ice cream memory is when my mom would pick me up from school and when I was having a really bad day we would sit and talk over a huge bowl of ice cream and it always made me feel better. My favorite ice cream is rocky road and chocolate syrup on chocolate ice cream is decadent and delicious!
I fogot rocky road! thanks so much for reminding me, stef!
If anyone hasn’t voted yet, please vote for the pumpkin cookie gingersnap sandwiches! I would love to win some ice cream prizes =)
Hi Stefanie and Carol. Glad you could make it! Stefanie has a recipe in this year’s final four of the Holiday Recipe Contest!
Only one flavor? Choc Chip Mint for sure. Oh how I do miss the old creme de menthe syrup in the hourglass shaped glass bottles….
Congrats Stefanie – great recipe btw – I am a big fan of both pumpkin and ginger
We should probably take a shot at answering some of the questions we asked in this entry. As you would imagine, the favorite flavors vary greatly around the Turkey Hill offices, but anything chocolate usually comes out on top.
I love rocky road!
congrats stef! wish I was so inventive with recipes. my daughter is, but i’m not. she is a pastry chef!
Mint chocolate chip is the fav here.
1. Having an ice cream cake for my birthday.
2. Vanilla
3.Everything in moderation.
Thanks VictoriaC and Turkey Hill. What an awesome party. What is the most popular turkey hill flavor?
chocolate syrup? love it on banana splits!
Good question Stefanie, the number one selling Turkey Hill ice cream flavor is Vanilla. That’s actually the top selling flavor of ice cream nationwide for any ice cream maker!
My favorite all time ice cream memory is making ice cream as a little girl with my grandmother with an old hand churn bucket.
Choc syrup on choc ice cream? Of course! It is a different texture and adds to the experience…
)
Ice cream is so good!
Whew! I made it. Have I missed anything?
If I only had one flavor to eat for the remainder of my life it would be Vanilla!
I can’t believe vanilla is still number one. I love it drizzled in hot fudge and a cherry of course.
i remember using the old hand churn creamer. not good memories! HAHA! like the electric that you plug in and let it do it’s thing. even better … grocery store trip for TH!
Hi Donna Joyce, Carol and VictoriaC. I loved your memory VictoriaC.
chocolate syrup — YES!! Especially on orange sherbet! Makes me want to run out and get some now. But I will have to be satisfied with my chocolate ice cream — which is my favorite all time flavor.
My ultimate concoction is choc chip mint with peanut butter smudged in it, drizzled with choc syrup and a big topper of whipped cream!
I think Vanilla is probably number one because it’s so versatile — by adding just one thing to it, it can actually taste like something totally different:)
Carol Y what flavors did you used to churn?
interesting deb. sounds great though. orange and chocolate. kind of like a creamsicle meets fudgesicle.
Speaking of Turkey Hill flavors. It’s time for our first trivia question. The first person to answer correctly will win a free container of Turkey Hill ice cream!
Which Turkey Hill Premium Ice Cream Flavor listed on our website has the longest name (not counting the words “Limited Edition”)?
(Don’t forget to refresh your browser often to see new comments.)
Hiya Stefanie – Thanks!!
Best ice cream memory: Lemon Ice Cream with my young daughters, sitting outside on our porch during a strong rainstorm.
One flavor: That’s a tough one, but I think I’d have to go with Rum Raisin.
Choco syrup on Choc. Ice cream? Sure, you can never have enough chocolate.
My favorite ice cream memory is getting to have a cone in the car with my siblings halfway to somewhere on a long trip…trying to be the one who could make it last longest(never won that one).
Vanilla is the most versatile and I always have it on hand.
I think I like chocolate on vanilla better, but I wouldn’t turn down a chocolate chocolate combination. Thanks for hosting the party and thanks for the fun comments on my recipe and (Meghan) for actually baking it!
stef – plain old vanilla!
That is quite a yummy concoction VictoriaC! Welcome Deb!
VictoriaC does have a great ice cream memory, that’s for sure. Everyone should try making ice cream at home sometime. Even if it doesn’t come out quite right, it’s still delicious!!!
Gertrude Hawk® Box of Chocolate
Gertrude Hawk® Box of Chocolate
My daughter finally got the hint and bought me an ice cream maker for Christmas! (She had to tell me cuz I was planning to buy one for myself.)
How about Gertrude Hawk Box of Chocolate for the trivia answer?
Gertrude Hawk® Box of Chocolate
Good job VictoriaC! You got the right answer first. Email your name and address to Ernie using the Ask Ernie link in the right hand sidebar!
(Don’t forget to refresh your browser often to see new comments.)
Gertrude Hawk box of chocolate ice cream is the longest.
Yup… looks like its:
Gertrude Hawk® Box of Chocolate
Love the memory jessie!
congrats victoria
Carol Y, Yes, you have got to try it — Have you ever had chocolate covered orange creams like from Josh Early? This is way better though, because of the syrup. In fact, I also like chocolate syrup on raspberry sherbet.
Good job VictoriaC, you beat me!
Way to Go Victoria!
Yay!! Thank you!! What a nice early Christmas present!!
Hey, congratulations, VictoriaC!
deb – yes i have. chocolate and raspberry sounds delicious! if fact, chocolate sounds delicious with just about everything!
I would love to win an ice cream prize since turkey hill isn’t available near me.
congratulations, VictoriaC!
stef – where are you from?
I love the chocolate and raspberry combination, yum!
Mandarin Oranges mixed in with Chocolate ice cream is delicious also:)
That’s right, Stefanie is from Vegas! We’re assuming you used to live out here in Turkey Hill country at some point, right?
stef – where you from?
Carol Y, I heartily agree — chocolate is KING!
YUMMO!!
I’ll have to try that!
“donna joyce wrote:

I love strawberries with chocolate ice cream, delicious!
donna joyce, I’m going to have to try mandarin oranges — what a great idea! Thanks!
Chocolate goes with everything!
It’s real good debralu — If I dont have any chocolate ice cream, I will put the oranges in the vanilla and add just a bit of chocolate syrup….. Yummo indeed!
I love all these great ice cream ideas! So delicious!
Thanks for the congrats everyone! I have sent my info.
Ooh oranges and vanilla sounds great too!
Do any of you eat ice cream everyday? I love it!
stef – how do you know about TH ice cream? are you from the east USA?
It’s easy to see why vanilla is the #1 seller — that’s because it is the standard for all sundaes. Just because something is the #1 seller, doesn’t mean it is the most favorite. I, for one, when I order sundaes out, I get mine on chocolate ice cream.
Quick question for all the ice cream lovers out there. Are you also sherbet and frozen yogurt fans? (It’s okay if you’re not…not everyone is!)
When I buy chocolate covered pretzels, I save the crumbs at the bottom of the bag to use as ice cream topping. Same thing with bags of cookies.
stef – how do you know about TH ice cream? are you from the eastern part of the USA?
Great recipe donnajoyce
sherbet, yes. frozen yogurt, no.
Yes, I love frozen yogurt and sherbert! I have a monster sweet tooth!
I love sherbet, but not frozen yogurt so much. I stick to regular yogurt in that category.
When I was growing up, rainbow sherbert used to be my fav ice cream….I really haven’t had it in some time (thanks for the memory TH Team) lol
I love frozen yogurt too! Ooh I love that chocolate pretzel topping idea. I learned about TH from a friend when I was visiting back east, it was so good and then I really loved the blog and the staff. This is a great community and I am a huge TH fan, eventhough I can’t buy it here.
#2 TH all natural chocolate which then follows with #3 chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup….is definitely heaven!
I love sherbet & frozen yogurt AND ice cream. I love orange sherbet – it reminds me of my childhood (& pushups!)
rainbow sherbet! forgot about that!
Great memories of sherbet
I had the last of the birthday cake.
Can’t wait to get a new flavor tomorrow. It’s fun to be eating ice cream with all of you!
Thank U Stefanie!

Great recipe Donna Joyce
We like sherbet & forzen yoghurt, and as a mom, I like to have my girls eat that for treats…we just don’t put it in the same bowl as ice cream, because that ruins the illusion…
I ate my ice cream too fast. I need another bowl =)
I am late…is the ice cream all gone? I still have some left in the carton.
I really don’t taste much of a difference between ice cream and frozen yogurt. It’s all good to me!
My daughter was just here visiting from Canada, and the first thing she had to have was Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream, and the second thing she wanted was a push-up pop.
Be right back — seriously going to get sum ice cream:)
You’re not too late Nancy, the party is only half over!!
Another trivia question is coming up in two minutes.
the ice cream cone on this blog looks like the pillow that is today’s prize
Sounds like a great cake julia!
So what flavor is everybody eating right now?
I would love to win that pillow =) Welcome Nancy.
chocolate of course
VictoriaC wrote:

This sounds really good!
Right now I’m having coffee
Cookies in cream today for me. So good!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup!!
there is no such thing as too much chocolate, chocolate ice cream, syrup and chocolate whipped cream
I am going to try that pretzel topping, it sounds so good.
We are eating mint choc chip, and playing 1 vs 100 on xbox live – talk about multitasking!
I like frozen yogurt, sherbet and IC. So far I think my favorite TH Mango Italian Ice and Vanilla Ice Cream (I think that’s the name, I have memory issues:) It is so icy and refreshing and at the same time creamy & rich. Amazing!!
I am having egg nog….I think this needs to be a year round flavor.
My hubby and I eat ice cream year round! It’s not just a summer treat here.
Time for another trivia question whose answer can be found on the Turkey Hill website. The first person to answer will win a free container of Turkey Hill ice cream!
Which three professional sports teams does Turkey Hill make the official team ice cream flavors for?
yum chocolate peanut butter cup!
I agree Nancy — eggnog is great too!
I think the pretzel idea sounds great too.
the three teams are the Yankees, Phillies and Eagles
Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Yankees
Turkey Hill Dairy
Eagles
Turkey Hill Dairy
Phillies
Turkey Hill Dairy
Yankees
eagles phillies yankees
Sometimes I will take the chocolate covered pretzel rods, and just dip them right in the ice cream – like sweet, cold, creamy fondue – LOL
Eagles, Phillies and Yankees
phillies, yankees, eagles
I sure do wish this site chat would go as fast as my ice cream eating habits! lol
congrats lori
Good job Lori! You were lightning fast! The Phillies, Yankees and Eagles are the three teams we make ice cream for.
Send your name and address to us using the Ask Ernie link on the right to get your prize!
Bummer, I missed out again. Congrats to the winner!
Way to go Lori!!!
How do you know when you have dispensed a proper serving of ice cream? When your spoon hits the bottom of the carton!
WTG Lori! enjoy your ice cream…
hahaha victoria! good one!!!
Congrats Lori – that was quick! Only 2 mins after they posted!!
That’s funny Victoria, or “when you no longer see what type of container you are putting it in” lol
Victoria I like the way you think:)
you all are so fast that it makes my head spin! true fans.
victoria – joke would be a little better if it was bottom of the SECOND carton!
Great job lori, I am too slow!
Serving size? You mean you don’t eat directly from the carton until it’s all?
Can’t do that Deb, I am sharing with my other half, two cats and a dog LOL
I want some ice cream now…so much for my diet.
Wish there was a prize for the farthest away fan.
Carol Y – good point! The second carton is a must!
I dont believe in diets when it comes to ice cream or the holidays!
Indulge ruthie!
our dog always loved ice cream — and we gave her lots of it — and she lived to be 17! Ice cream — yep, it’s what the doctor ordered!
Have another bowl of turkey hill, especially during the holidays!
Stefanie, If you live so far away, how to you get to have TH ice cream? That would make me go crazy!
my hubby & I met on AOL. He wanted to meet me in person & kept trying to get me to come over for Butter Pecan Ice Cream.
I can’t believe even your dog loves Turkey Hill Deb! I would love to see a picture!
Stefanie, define “bowl” lol
stef – if you win the recipe contest how are you going to get the ice cream?
I refused of course & we met in a public place. For the SECOND date, I went to his condo for ice cream tho…
Great story Debralu! My definition of bowl is pretty much the whole carton =)
debralu – how long are you together?
How sweet (literally) DebrLu
Stefanie, Yeah, we never had to rinse the empty TH container for recycling — our dog licked every nook and cranny as clean as a whistle!
Speaking of Deb’s ice cream loving pooch, we used to post photos of pets enjoying ice cream here on the Ice Cream Journal. We should starting doing that again!
If I win the recipe contest I am hoping for an ice cream themed prize rather than the ice cream since it isn’t near me. Otherwise I would donate it to one of you folk because you love TH as much as me =)
We met 13 years ago & have been married for 11 years. He’s STILL an ice cream nut, but now craves Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup.
I heard that Deb — I think my dog enjoys tearing up the carton as much as he does eating the ice cream!
th team – great idea for a new contest!
I would love to see some pet photos. All I have is fish, so ice cream is probably not too good for them =)
stef – maybe you could use the ice cream as an iceburg? HAHA
This is the best ice cream party ever!
donna joyce, what kind of dog do you have? Just hearing about your dog tearing up the container makes me laugh!
Okay, here’s the final trivia question! The first person to answer correctly wins a free container of Turkey Hill ice cream.
How much is does a Turkey Hill mini football cost in the “Turkey Hill Gear” section of our website?
Maple Walnut is a favorite of mine because it reminds me of my mother. It was her favorite, too. Very hard to find, though, so anything chocolate with lots of stuff in it is a close second.
I guess it really is true that I am becoming my mother!
You are so funny carol! The TH would never make it to the hot desert I live in.
I love critter pictures! That would be great to have a pet pic gallery!
My vet told me that ice cream (or any dairy) isn’t good for dogs. We buy them Frosty Paws instead. I have photos of them in birthday hats eating their Frosty Paws.
Well fellow TH fanatics, this has been fun but I have to hit the hay now…. This was my first ice cream party, but it won’t be my last.
Thanks to all for making me smile!!
Happy Holidays, donna joyce
4.05
It’s almost over and I really wanted to join. Maybe next year. This is what happens when you have kids.
$4.05
4.05
$4.05 each
Chocolate syrup on chocolate ice creams works for me.
$4.05 each
debralu, Our vet told us the same thing — but our dogs are always healthy just the same
Turkey Hill Light Vanilla Bean would be my choice
My two pups love to steal my ice cream if I put it down for a minute – they love all the Turkey Hill flavors.
Bummer, I missed out again.
wow! that was tough finding that football!!
Hopefully I can win one of the daily ice cream merchandise prizes, they are so cute!
Vanilla girl for life.
vanilla is a classic
Carol Y has the correct answer first! A Turkey Hill mini football costs $4.05 in our online store.
Send us your name and address via the Ask Ernie link on the right to claim your prize!
yeah… my dogs love to steal my ice cream too. But they get sick (the big “D”) and have accidents in the house. So, I have to be careful. They’d eat the whole carton if I let em.
Great job, Carol Y! Congratulations on winning!
Congrats Carol!!!!
Thanks for the party! It was fun trying to win…
congrats carol!
This party has been a blast and a lot more active than our last party! We’ll definitely be having another ice cream party soon.
We have to sign off for now, but please, please, please feel free to stick around and keep chatting!
And if you haven’t already voted in the Ultimate Holiday Recipe Contest, let your voice be heard in our poll on the right!
Good night all!
1. What’s your all time best ice cream memory? Making homemade ice cream, churned by hand.. vanilla, with a huge peppermint stick crushed and added in near the end.
2. If you could only eat one flavor of ice cream for the rest of your life, what flavor would you choose? (We know, it’s scary to think that you can only have one flavor.)Vanilla…because you can add toppings.
3. Chocolate syrup on chocolate ice cream: Overkill or just what the doctor ordered
Overkill for me.
thanks so much gang! See ya next year! Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND WONDERFUL NEW YEAR full of ice cream, ice cream, and more ice cream!
Thanks TH Team! Hows about an ice tea social in the summer, too?
Thanks for the party! Hope to win something this month!

Happy Holidays to everyone and thank you TH for the great party!

3. Chocolate syrup on chocolate ice cream: Overkill or just what the doctor ordered? Have the doctor call me in a perscription!!
1. eating it at my parents’ pizza shop… often!
2. hmmm… probably vanilla
3. overkill
Whenever I eat Ice Cream, I create a great memory
Chocolate peanut butter is the beat. When served with Postachio and Burgandy Cherry, life can’t be better.
Just what the doctor ordered/
chocolate fudge love that. with cherries
1. my first ever ice cream cake for a birthday.
2. chocolate
3. too much, I’d rather invest in some good chocolate ice cream than spend money on covering it up with syrup
I’ll go with chocolate peppermint tort!
Coffee. Let is get a little soft, mix it around, take a bite, then take a swig of hot coffee.
If you could only eat one flavor of ice cream for the rest of your life, what flavor would you choose? (We know, it’s scary to think that you can only have one flavor.) Chocolate Peanut Butter!
Chocolate syrup on chocolate ice cream: Overkill or just what the doctor ordered? Acceptable, but not necessary
I couldn’t get through last night, evidently too much load for the server. If I could choose only one flavor, it would be coffee ice cream. Adding chocolate syrup would make it even better.
The best flavor for me is Chocolate Peanut Butter.
missed the party
On the 8th day of Christmas my true love gave to me Turkey Hill Choc Chip Mint ice cream, now that’s a ral Chritmas gift.
Sorry I missed the party.

AS FOR #3–FORGET ABOUT ‘chocolate syrup’…WARM UP THE HOT FUDGE, POUR WHATEVER AMOUNT ON THAT SATISFIES THAT CHOCOLATE YEARNING, AND FINISH OFF WITH HOMEMADE WHIPPED CREAM!!
My best ice cream memory? The time my friend from Colombia introduced me to Dulce de Leche ice cream (which I wish TH offered.) It was truly the BEST I’ve ever had!
If I could only eat one flavor for the rest of my life, I think I’d choose Premium Vanilla. You can add other things (spices, fruits, syrups) to doctor it up, if you wish.
Chocolate syrup on Chocolate Ice Cream? Yeah, it’s overkill, sure, but it’s SOOOO GOOD!
hi well my all time best ice cream memory is when i shared ice cream with my friends and we almost got into a ice cream fight. If i can only eat one flavor it will be mint chocolate chip. Yummy!!! hmmm Chocolate syrup on chocolate ice cream is not overkill but just like i want it lol
