trkgiftWhew! The holidays and our 12 Days of Ice Cream celebration are over and we hope everyone had a great Christmas and got everything they wished for (even if it was just spending quality time with friends and family). We’ve already reached out to our 12 Days of Ice Cream prize winners and we’ll announce the winners as soon as we can. In the meantime, thank you to everyone for making this year’s holiday blog celebration the BEST EVER!

Speaking of getting everything you wished for this Christmas, we’d like to know what your best gift was this year. Share your joy with the group by leaving a comment. You can also let us know what your worst gift of all time is, if you don’t mind sharing that sort of information. It’s okay to vent about it here on the Ice Cream Journal… the person who gave you that gift probably isn’t reading!

best gift this year…a new IMac..
worst gift of all time? thats a hard one…i guess the one that comes to mind is a plastic cash register my aunt gave all the kids one year for Christmas. I was 12 at the time and the toy was clearly meant for someone 6 or younger. Thats the only one i can think of.

  2. Elise says:

The best gifts I received this year were to have my brother come home and to see him enjoying the Turkey Hill ice tea that I bought for him! He cannot get Turkey Hill products in the South, so my brother was thrilled! I also received the game Rummikub and a puzzle! The worst gift I ever got was being sick around holiday time- I work with children and caught a flu bug!

  3. Cheryl says:

My best gift is my daughter told me that her and her husband are expecting their first child–we are SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!

  4. Norma says:

Best gift – being surrounded with family and friends.

Worst gift – big snow way too early this year.

  5. Cheryl says:

Oh yeah the worst gift ever was a pizza pan and pizza cutter from my husband one year–I didn’t speak to him the rest of the day and he never bought me anything for the kitchen again!

  6. Ellen says:

My best gift was the Redskins t-shirts from my husband. I don’t even care that they suck this year. 2nd best gift came from former co-workers. I was laid off in Jan. 09 and these wonderful people gave me a goody box for Christmas with food and cash included. I’m glad the Christmas spirit lives on through family and friends.

  7. CAROL TRIANO says:

The best gift I received this year was getting a raise at work. The worst gift was a lottery ticket that was not the winner of the 200,000,000…….LOL

Of course the best gift of all was being with friends and family over the holidays and enjoying time with all of them.

  8. sandy c from Corry,Pa says:

best gift ever–having my mother with me for another year, we have to pray again for another year.
WORST GIFT–NOT WINNING ANYTHING FROM tURKEY hILL AND HAVING NO MORE COUPONS FOR ICE CREAM.

  9. Carol Y says:

Best gift this year – a family photo of my husband and I with our 3 children and their spouses on our family vacation this past summer. We can never all get in one photo because I am usually the one taking the picture. So this was the best photo ever!
Worse gift of all time – never had one!

  10. kinsy says:

my worst was when i was 5,no santa…went to church, returned home, and santa came,my best was getting engaged to be married.

  11. Jim in SOMD says:

Best gift was having a white christmas. Worst gift was when I received 2 ties from my wife’s niece when I do not wear ties that often any more and already had two full tie racks.

  12. judylee says:

WORST gift ever~from a family I give loving childcare to~a regifted Christmas tree ornament! It wasn’t even in it’s packaging! Proubably right off their Christmas tree. They are very selfish people.

  13. Linda Lamb says:

Today was the best gift, I finally received my Turkey Hill Calender. Thank you.

  14. Ken says:

    I love your ice cream!

  15. IceCreamFiend says:

Having my family around me was the best present I got this Christmas!

  16. Judi says:

Honestly cannot think of my worst gift ever. Oh yeah, probably when I was 10 and wanted ice skates so bad? I unwrapped the right-sized box and found – red rubber boots! Gives you an idea of what some people thought was a good gift years ago. Never did get the skates, but just today I fell on my keester several times on the ice in my driveway!

  17. Linda Leffler says:

My best gift was a diamond necklace from my now deceased brother. Every holiday I would get a piece of jewelry, he spoiled me. Can’t say the worst but this year got 4 shot glasses with different colors in the stems, I am not a drinker, they are pretty though LOL. Linda

  18. Nancy says:

My best gift this year was an annual pass to all our state parks. A perfect gift for me and it will be well used:)

  19. jeanne lizzi says:

The best gift I ever received was Jesus Christ. Nothing can compare to that.

Probably the worst gift was when I was teaching nursery school & one of my kids gave me one cookie & one piece of chocolate.

  20. Ale Oliver says:

This yr-blood, post 2 traumatic surgeries; was to only have 1, but later in pm taken back into surgery as I was bleeding internally, so strangers & angels saved me!!!! Was hoping to celebate w ice cream lol;(:”)-this happened a month ago, so I am so thankful to be home w my precious kiddos!!!!

  21. millie buzzone says:

hhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa every year can have bad gifts my husband dont know to shop. i cant have sugar and my husband bought 5 lbs of candy took it back today. the best is just making it another year

  22. Anne L. King says:

Our best gift was our health. We thank God for that and of course we can still have ice cream every day.

  23. Deb says:

I’m right there with jeanne lizzi — best gift ever is Jesus Christ. I cannot think of a “worst” gift. I’ve read some complaints on here of regifting, but honestly, no matter what gift someone gives me, it really is the thought that counts. They did take the time to give me something, but what I appreciate most is their friendship.

  24. jay says:

best gift: gift cards, they fit well

  25. Linda says:

I’m with Deb & Lizzi, the best gift is Jesus & the promise of eternal life! Jesus is the reason for the Season!

On the other hand, I have to disagree with Deb regarding “re-gifting”. I’d rather get nothing, than a 2nd hand gift. I don’t think it takes any “thought that counts” when I get one! It’s usually from a rich relative who expects something great, but gives you her throw aways! YIKES, I’d better focus on the real reason for the season!Merry Christmas!

  26. Arvella says:

I agree-JESUS is the Best Gift, Salvation, Eternal Life.
Worst-not sure, boss would give us a pencil, piece of candy, and an eraser-we worked in child care.
Friend-gave me a gift-I liked it, she told me that she got it from a second hand shop for .50, it was cute. Didn’t need to know where it came from

  27. Lois Sidelnick says:

Best gift this year, my son showed up unexpectedly from N, Carolina.
Worse gift, he went home day after Christmas

  28. Lorraine says:

Best gift was being with most of my family for Christmas (my daughter who lives in Hawaii could not make it home this year) No worst gifts ever.

  29. Jean says:

The best gifts I got was a Yankee scarf and a diamond neckles.

  30. Pat says:

The best gift is my family and their continued health. :)

  31. Sarah says:

I’m a crossword addict and my best gift were some pj’s with a crossword design on them from my daughter. My worst gift was also from my daughter; it was a Magnum PI video that she gave me a couple of years ago. One gift I was hoping to receive but did not this year was my Turkey Hill calendar. Are you not offering them any more?

  32. Nancy N says:

I agree with the otheres – the best gift is Jesus & the promise of eternal life! Jesus is the reason for the Season! My second best gift is my family. I am blessed to have such a great family and the fact that we were able to be together at Christmas.

  33. gianna says:

I don’t have a particular favorite gift….but anything that was given with some thought behind it (something with meaning for the receiver, no matter how small),to me,is the best gift one could receive (not just to give a present for the sake of giving something).

  34. Harriet G says:

My best Holiday gift is having my family together.

  35. DIANE RADFORD says:

I DON’T REALLY HAVE A FAVORITE BEST GIFT, ANYTHING GIVEN FROM THE HEART MEANS THE MOST TO ME. HOWEVER, MY WORSE GIFT WAS MANY YEARS AGO FROM MY HUSBAND WHO GAVE ME A LAUNDRY BASKET AND A WIST BROOM AND THE PAN TO SWEEP DUST INTO, WE WERE NEVER, EVER THAT POOR!

  36. Joseph says:

I got a few gifts, but happy to enjoy time with the family. Christmas comes and goes so fast.

  37. Caroline of Manalapan says:

Its the same missing gift Sarah has not yet received but Linda Lamb has. There is an empty space on our refrigerator waiting for our annual Turkey Hill Calendar. The best received was the party for hubby turning 70. His brother and wife came east for it and our daughter’s family came for 2 days from Westchester, NY. There were no bad gifts since anything you get from someone else shows that they care about you and the gift is that token of caring

  38. Stefanie Schmidt says:

The best holiday gift would be to win one of Turkey Hill’s prizes. Happy holidays to all!

  39. Jane M says:

Good health which includes a happy dose of ice cream.

  40. Mrs K says:

We just received our Turkey Hill calendar! Wahoo! Thank you, Turkey Hill.

  41. Jane M says:

Good health and some good family time topped off with a serving of ice cream.

  42. Ann says:

The best gift given to myself as well as the rest of the world is JESUS! Then he also blessed me with a wonderful husband, and two terrific children. Now I even have a terrific daughter-in-law!

  43. Ray Sanderford says:

At my age anyone who visited or sent a
Christmas card was a blessing; the
    best gift I received
    The worst…Holiday boxer shorts that
no one would be caught in and NEVER fit
even if inclined to use them. Sure glad
they don’t make them for Easter or Thanksgiving.
I didn’t get any Turkey Hill Ice Cream
because it would melt under the tree.

  44. Christine McKnight says:

Every gift I received is special. They weren’t expensive but they all came from the heart!

  45. jim knepp says:

I like the new Turkey Hill calendar. The quilts are great.

  46. Maryann Striff says:

All my gifts were good. The best part of Christmas was spending it with family. My 3 children,5 grandchildren, sisters, brothers, neices, nephews and my 95 year old mother! Thank you Jesus!!! It doesn’t get better than that!

  47. Dorothy says:

Worst gift ever was a faux fur, deer shaped tissue box……….ugly and tacky!!

  48. Sheila says:

I love the 2010 calendar – a big thank you!

  49. MARY FREY says:

well, I would settle for some container of ice cream

  50. lee carr says:

my turkey hill calendar arrived in the mail today with the coupons that are ready for spending. lookout grocery store, here I come

  51. Bob Kessler Jr says:

The best gift was a new jacket to replace the old worn-out one. There was never a bad gift. Everything that I received I was able to use.

  52. Cyndee says:

A Big Thank You for the Turkey Hill 2010 calendar! Very nice! Love the coupons. Thanks!!!

  53. Emilia says:
