Okay, before you wrinkle your nose and emit an “ewww!” audible to everyone within 20 feet, give this treat a chance to explain itself. It’s a spaghetti and cheese flavored ice cream from a shop in Merida, Venezuela called Heladeria Coromoto. The shop is known for its unusual ice cream flavors, including its claim to having the most flavors of any ice cream shop in the world (nearly 900 and counting, though the shop only offers about 100 flavors on any given day). And one of those flavors is spaghetti and cheese, a tempting combination that begs the question: Would you eat it?

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
Of course I would eat it, being of Italian descent I would certainly eat pasta of any kind with cheese!!!Bring it on. Yum!!!
I love your ice cream!
Why not give it a try. I love cheese!
No thanks!
While living in Germany we used to get “Spaghetti Ice” which consisted of vanilla ice cream put through a potato ricer to look like spaghetti, strawberry topping (which looked like red spaghetti sauce), and finely grated coconut (which looked like parmasan cheese) sprinkled on top. Now THAT’S Spaghetti Ice Cream!
Are these “odd” flavors sweet also? I’d try it, but I don’t know if I’d like it.
Normally, I don’t care for weird or unusual flavors but somehow, this one sounds intriguing. Sign me up, I’ll try it.
I don’t think I would… Even though the ingredients on their own are all okay, there’s something about the combination that just doesn’t seem right!
I like my spaghetti and cheese hot, though I’ve heard of a spaghetti dessert pie…no thanks! I’ll stick to Turkey Hill Farm icecream, my favorite.
Why Why Why
Thanks, but I think I’ll stick with my beloved TH Butter Pecan.
It looks gross!! No way!!!
of course I would try this ice cream, but I am not ready to travel to Venezuela to do it. spaghetti and cheese are two things I love together, so this would be great to eat.
sorry, it doesn’t do a thing for my taster buds. I’ll pass on this one
I would try it to see what it tastes like.
I SURE WOULD EAT IT AND DIP A PIECE OF ITALIAN BREAD IN IT
No Thanks!!!!!!! I prefer my main dish and dessert to be separate. I’m sure it’s a big hit in Merida, Venezuela though.
If its anything like Peggy says, I’m all for it, but just the thought of it makes me cringe.
Also I received my ice cream cone and it is soooooo cute. Everyone loves it. Thank you TH
Not sure if even my husband would try that one!
No way. I prefer my spaghetti warm.
I’d taste it if for no other reason than I’m curious by nature.
I WOULD AR LEASE TRY IT
NO! Enough said.
No self respecting Italian would eat that.
Nope. WOuldn’t do it
I would take a test taste, but I love the flavors Turkey Hill makes. Linda
It sounds interesting, I would try it.
Honestly, I think I’d pass. I am not, however, opposed to the idea of cheese (flavor) in ice cream. There are a number of deserts and pastries where cheese is an excellent addition and I believe that there are even a few ice cream flavors that would be good with a bit of cheese in them. Just don’t think I’d like a pasta flavored ice cream with cheese.
Yes, I would try it. It might actually taste good.
I don’t think I’d eat it. I’ll take Turkey Hill flavors over that any day.
I would try it, but can’t say it would be a favorite.
I might try it!
would I eat it? no I would not.
That does not sound appetizing to me. I love Turkey Hill ice cream with normal flavors.
it depends on what kind of cheese…there is “torta di riso” (Italian) a mildly sweet rice torte that my mom used to make (ok no cheese was involved, but rice and condensed milk were among the ingredients. I might give the ice cream a try.
hard to say, I don’t think it would be good, but i would try it
I dont think so
NO.no. no no no no no no no
Let’s get Mikey. He’ll eat anything!
Inspired by a previous entry, I did make BACON ice cream. and it was REALLY good!!!!!!
No way I couldn’t eat that. I’d have to smell it first Before I even tried. I probably get the dry heaves.
SORRY
At first it seems pretty bad but we do eat cheese cake and noodle pie so it may be better than it seems. Worth a taste but I don’t think it would be a big seller for TH.
I wouldn’t get near it with a ten foot pole! It even looks disgusting.
I would be willing to taste it.
No way I would even try this ice cream. It looks gross and probably tastes bad. I wouldn’t want to smell it either.
Not a chance I’d try that — it looks plain awful!
The flavors sound intriguing, but the picture is not very appetizing. Too blah.
Not an ice cream I would eat!!
I might give it a shot.
Nope!!!
As soon as I saw it I said, Nope.!!!!!!
It looks to me like a glob of rice pudding so, Yes, I would try it.
Well, I might take a wee little taste, but it certainly does not look or sound very appealing.
I love ice cream, but I don’t think I could try this flavor. So weird!
Since one of my favorite foods is Mac&Cheese from childhood to preasent and it looks like real Mac, I would love to try it. I eat cold M&C all the time.
ok i would try it i tryed hot pepper iceeam and that was good
no way
I like cold spaghetti and of course ice cream so bring it on!!
I would at least try it.
I do not care what you say. I do not believe that I would ask for this flavor at an ice cream parlor.
Nope
Hi everyone, yes if you would color it first.then fried it in some butter and dip it in some choclate. then top it off with ice cream.
Not for me!
plain cheese ice cream sounds good to me. I would try the above ice cream mentioned above or any of the other ice creams available at this dessert shop. makemit low fat OR fat free, I’m there.
If it’s ice cream I’ll give it a try– no matter what the flavor. Because of this rule to live by I discovered that Red Bean ice cream is one of my favorites!
NO WAY
Two bowls of Vodka ice cream should set the atmosphere for a trial of Spaghetti and Cheese ice cream…don’t forget the parmesan cheese topping.
That is alittle much, No Thanks/
I would eat it only if it were accompanied by a red wine ice cream.
it might be a tasty appetizer, does look creamy
I am not sure. I would probably have to sit and look at it for a while to convince myself to try it. It doesn’t look very appetizing.
As much as I love my pasta this really sounds bad. No thanks. I will stick to my Turkey Hill favorites.
Ish and Gish! No Way No How!
I would give it a try, but, would I like it? barbara
My tastebuds usually lean a bit towards the less exotic, but something in me would like to try this one…
Forget it.
I love spaghetti, love cheese, and love ice cream, so sure. Why not?
So sorry no, don’t like spaghetti of any kind, no offense I’m sure some people will love it.
If I want spaghetti & cheese “flavor”, I will eat the real thing. However, when I want ice cream, I want my Turkey Hill ice cream, with all it’s great flavors, but spaghetti sure isn’t one of them!!!
Not in this lifetime!
When traveling I always try new foods and most of the time I like them. Only had 1 experience when I couldn’t swallow the food. This would be worth a try but think I would enjoy the real thing better, but who knows?
I love this comment Dom Plati:
“I would eat it only if it were accompanied by a red wine ice cream.”
and I would eat the red wine ice cream without the spaghetti ice cream too
thanks
YIKES! The more I look at this picture, the more it looks like a bowl of worms & maggots!
While I suspect I wouldn’t like it, it is ice cream after all & is unlikely to kill me, so yes, I’d try it.
I would try it before making a judgment about the spaghetti ice cream.
I’ll try anything once!
Hey, it’s ice cream, I’d try it.
Sorry – this one just doesn’t do it for me! Maybe cheeseCAKE -
