spaghetti cheese ice cream

Okay, before you wrinkle your nose and emit an “ewww!” audible to everyone within 20 feet, give this treat a chance to explain itself. It’s a spaghetti and cheese flavored ice cream from a shop in Merida, Venezuela called Heladeria Coromoto. The shop is known for its unusual ice cream flavors, including its claim to having the most flavors of any ice cream shop in the world (nearly 900 and counting, though the shop only offers about 100 flavors on any given day). And one of those flavors is spaghetti and cheese, a tempting combination that begs the question: Would you eat it?

    No thanks!

  5. Peggy says:

While living in Germany we used to get “Spaghetti Ice” which consisted of vanilla ice cream put through a potato ricer to look like spaghetti, strawberry topping (which looked like red spaghetti sauce), and finely grated coconut (which looked like parmasan cheese) sprinkled on top. Now THAT’S Spaghetti Ice Cream!

  6. kathy says:

Are these “odd” flavors sweet also? I’d try it, but I don’t know if I’d like it.

  7. Jeffrey says:

Normally, I don’t care for weird or unusual flavors but somehow, this one sounds intriguing. Sign me up, I’ll try it.

Honestly, I think I’d pass. I am not, however, opposed to the idea of cheese (flavor) in ice cream. There are a number of deserts and pastries where cheese is an excellent addition and I believe that there are even a few ice cream flavors that would be good with a bit of cheese in them. Just don’t think I’d like a pasta flavored ice cream with cheese.
