Happy National Ice Cream Month!! We’d like to take this time to welcome all of our new readers and also point out, one more time, our snazzy new Ice Cream Journal design. (Sorry, we can’t get enough of this new design. The old one was in use for almost four years, so you can understand our excitement, right?)
This year’s National Ice Cream Month celebration here on the Ice Cream Journal will be a little different than past years because we’ve turned over the blog writing duties to YOU — our readers! Throughout July we’ll be featuring reader-written entries on a variety of topics, including “your fondest ice cream memory,” “your ice cream pet peeves,” and one reader’s interview with our very own Einstein of Ice Cream, Mr. Ernie Pinckney.
We’ve already read most of the entries submitted by our readers-turned-bloggers and we are POSITIVE that you’ll love every one of them. The entries are above and beyond anything we could have expected, but we really shouldn’t be surprised because we’ve known all along that we’ve got some of the best and most passionate readers and ice cream fans anyone could hope for!
For their time, our blog writers will be “paid” with a one month supply of Turkey Hill ice cream. But we’re also rewarding our readers too! At the end of National Ice Cream Month, we’ll choose FIVE comments at random to also receive a one month supply of Turkey Hill ice cream. So leave a comment today and tomorrow and the next day and the next, because your comment might be one of the ones we pick!
These comments are intended to be a discussion of the information presented in the blog postings. Any product-related questions or other issues not related to the post should be referred to our consumer response team through the link on our Contact Us page, as they are the true experts in answering any questions or concerns you may have about Turkey Hill and its products.
The Ice Cream Journal is a public forum and comments left here will be visible by all visitors (e-mail addresses will not be visible). When making comments, please adhere to standard guidelines of decorum and respect. Turkey Hill reserves the right to edit or delete comments in violation of these guidelines.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
Some stores offer a variety of TH inc cream, but the store I usually visit only has about 6 different flavors, usually not the latest month variety. So, I have to shop around. My favorites are Febuary’s Box of Chocolates, Vanilla Bean and Vanilla Rum Raison. Not a buyer of inc cream mixed with cookies as I would rather have my cookies on the side. Would like to have the lemon ice with chopped almonds.
I like the new format! Where can I get that squid ice cream locally? It sounds so yum yum!
On this July 4th weekend, our family shows their INDEPENDENCE by each selecting their own flavor of Turkey Hill ice cream. If two select the same there would be FIREWORKS!
Of course, the Phillies fan selects Phillies Graham Slam and the Yankees fan wants Bronx Bombers Sundae. When they play each other again, I would want more than a Banana SPLIT because I think that the Yankees are Lemon SOFT.
My wife made a blueberry pie and she was going to put some PomBlueberryCocolate on it but I told her not to go to any Truffle.
But as George Washington said at Valley Forge,” It’s good that it’s cold here so my Turkey Hill Ice Cream won’t melt.
It’s the second day of July and another gorgeous day to be eating Turkey Hill Ice Cream! I’m actually in the process of packing for a trip to Chicago to see the 4th of July Fireworks but packing is really exhausting and a little Turkey Hill Ice Cream is sounding really good right about now… that was delicious, now back to packing!
Just tried your Duetta apple and caramel. I am a favorite for all the Duettas and just love this one.
I love all the different flavors Turkey Hill has!
How do we get our stores to get these new flavors? We get the same old flavors all the time.
There is no doubt in my mind that Turkey Hill Ice Cream is the best available here in Bucks OCunty,PA. I just love the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. I quizzed Turkey Hill about being able to buy this chocolate ice cream without the peanut butter but it isn’t available. I am currently preping for a fourth of July BBQ and Turkey Hill Chocolate Pea Nut Butter ice cream WILL be served. Thanks Turkey Hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whenever my granddaughters visit, the first words I hear are,
“Grandma, is Turkey Hill in the freezer?”
I used to be a Breyers diehard. But then i tired of their same old variety. That’s when I went strolling down ice cream lane at the supermarket and discovered the Holy Grail of taste and inventiveness, Turkey Hill. Now I anxiously await the newest Limited Editions. My wife thinks that I am nuts when I come home with six containers at a time of you delicious concoctions. I can honestly say that I have tried EVERY ONE of your flavors, including the frozen yogerts which I thought I wouldn’t like, and found then ALL intoxicatingly addictive. Thanks for the great work. I look forward to your upcoming flavors.
so nice to see the article–just got out of the hospital and was so glad to have Coconut Cream Pie/Turkey Hii in the freezer !!!!! I missed you !!!!! thanks
just got out of the hospital, and was so glad to see the article and to have Coconut Cream Pie Turkey Hill in the freezer waiting for me !!!!!! Missed you !!!! thanks
How can I get in on this opportunity to write an entry for one of these days? I have so many passionate opinions and interesting information on ice cream and I would totally love to share my knowledge or opinions with others. This sounds like a refreshing way to spend my free time.
I love so many flavors of ice cream and in reading all the comments I saw a couple of them about Box of Chocolates ice cream. This sounds delicious and I haven’t seen this one at my local supermarkets. Why don’t you offer them for sale on your site so that we can order the ones we want and have them shipped directly to us?
I love the new blog design! Turkey Hill is so good in summer.
I love Turkey Hill because you have so many flavors and it’s a reasonable price. It’s so sweet and creamy. My favorite is bannna split. Maureen from Philly
I have loved Turkey Hill Rocky Road and Chocolate Marshmallow since I was a little girl. I remember the old containers that were mostly white and were round. I also remember the round lid having a window that I used to love to look thru when we picked the ice cream up at the store to make sure the label on the container was accurate! lol! I would also lick or scrape that window clean with a spoon so i could tell how much of the ice cream was left inside. The container may have changed long ago, but the Turkey Hill ice cream is still the best! AND, when there is a coupon or sale, well that just makes it all the sweeter.
It’s almost time for me to go catch my bus to Chicago for the 4th of July holiday. I am really excited to go, it will definitely be a highlight of my summer. It’s too bad I can’t bring some Turkey Hill Ice Cream with me. I guess this is my last serving of Turkey Hill Ice Cream, well at least for a little while.
I just took a break from vacuuming to catch up on e-mail and there was my invite from Turkey Hill to celebrate National Ice Cream Month…as if we need a reason to eat Turkey Hill ice cream for a month. The black raspberry cone on the web page has me salivating and I’ll soon be at my freezer’s door. Happy celebrating everyone!
your ice cream is the best. have a happy 4th
Turkey Hill is in my freezer all year round. Who needs an official ice cream month when you could have it all year?
Summertime is Always the Time for Ice Cream…Happy 4th of July!!!
I love Turkey Hill Ice Cream. It’s always good for a treat or special reward/celebration. I like doing different things with it also, like taking two crisp cookies and making mini ice cream sandwiches.
I was so lucky to be chosen one of the bloggers! I can’t wait to get “paid”.
This may just be the best month ever!
Finally, back from my 4th of July Vacation in Chicago! There is nothing like coming home to a delicious helping of Turkey Hill Ice Cream after an exhausting trip!

Turkey Hill Ice Cream is what satisfies my sweet tooth! It’s so easy to find since they sell it at all the big supermarkets and very affordable!
ITS BEEN SO HOT IN BUFFALO ICE CREAM HITS THE SPOT
I literally just polished off about a half tub of Turkey Hill Ice Cream. That was just plain stupid. Now I am feeling quite sick.
Today I just bought some more Turkey Hill Ice Cream since last night I polished off all the Turkey Hill Ice Cream in my freezer. After eating all that ice cream yesterday, I thought I would never be able to eat another serving of ice cream but I guess I truly will never get sick of ice cream.
Happy National Ice Cream Month! I’m looking forward to reading the interview with Ernie and the other reader-submitted entries!
Today my family is coming back home from a trip to New York. What better way then to celebrate than with a Turkey Hill Ice Cream Social? Guess that means I got to go grocery shopping for more Turkey Hill Ice Cream.
Yummy! There’s nothing like eating Turkey Hill Ice Cream at midnight with family. My family literally just came home from their trip to New York and now we are all back at home chit chatting and chowing down on Turkey Hill Ice Cream.
Nothing beats Turkey Hill Ice Cream on a hot summer day. Ice cream is so cool and refreshing, it’s the best mid-day energy booster.
I can’t believe July is already half way over! It’s bitter sweet because July is national ice cream month and I don’t want it to end but then again I also can’t wait for it to end because I desperately want to be a winner of a month’s worth of free Turkey Hill Ice Cream!
I’ve been reading over lots of the posted comments and I’ve realized that I’ve posted a lot of those comments! Well I guess it’s no surprise because I have been making sure to post a comment every single day to increase my chances of winning free Turkey Hill Ice Cream for a month! What can I say, I love Turkey Hill Ice Cream!
It’s Turkey Hill time! Time for me to enjoy my daily dose of Turkey Hill Ice Cream while I post a comment on the Turkey Hill Ice Cream Journal. How satisfying!
“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream” when the weather turns tortuous like we’ve been getting all across the USA during this month of July 2010.
Turkey Hill Ice Cream is by far the best ice cream sold in supermarkets! I still have yet to find a more delicious brand than Turkey Hill! Turkey Hill should open up it’s own ice cream shop! People would surely flock to it!
Wow, I feel like the stupidist person who has ever commented on the Ice Cream Journal. Everytime I left a comment, it was on the same July 1st post. Peole who are reading the comments must be like what the heck, why does she keep commenting on the same post??? I finally figured out why there were never any new posts. It’s because I bookmarked this page on July 1st to make it easier for me to get to the site and leave a comment but unfortuantly my assumption that everyday it would automatically change to the new post was wrong. Boo Hoo! Maybe now I’ll finally comment on the new posts, or maybe I’ll just be super silly and keep commenting on the same July 1st post, after all it’s my favorite because it talks about my faborite things: JULY, NATIONAL ICE CREAM MONTH & FREE TURKEY HILL ICE CREAM!
Sorry i’ve not been on your site for a while. Between viruses and breakdowns, I’m happy to be back. Just wanted to tell you that I bought 3 gallons (containers) of turkey hill ice cream yesterday. It make my evening to eat what 3 different kinds at a sitting.
Wow, July has been hot, hot, hot and I’ve done more than my share to celebrate National Ice Cream Month…..mostly Turkey Hill Mint Chocolate Chip!
