As anyone who’s read the Ice Cream Journal for a while knows, we love to feature delicious-looking photos of ice cream. That’s why we asked Tamara S. of Exton, PA to find a photo she thought would look good here on the Journal. What do you think of her choice?
When I dream of ice cream, which I do on a daily basis, my dreams are fraught with flavors, textures and colors. The only way to relieve myself of my tortuous reverie is with ice cream that meets my dreamy demands . . . not an easy task for a frozen treat.
THIS ice cream cone, however, is working overtime to surpass my sensory expectations.
THIS ice cream cone is not your typical vanilla or chocolate.
THIS ice cream cone is a rainbow of colors and flavors. Pale cotton candy pink, bright cherry, milk chocolate brown and creamy white hues each beg for attention. Chunks of cherry and chips of chocolate are embedded in cherrylicious ice cream, enrobed with gooey chocolate, garnished with hunks of almonds and drizzled with white chocolate. Each flavor tempts to be tasted.
And perhaps best of all, THIS ice cream cone is a medley of textures, all imploring to be explored by the human tongue. Sticky layers of chocolate. Crunchy almonds. Chewy chips. Juicy cherries. Cold and creamy ice cream. A crisp and sweet cone.
There is no other food in the world that can compete with the magic that is ice cream.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
I do believe that this picture is one of the best. You really want to catch the chocolate that is dripping and taste it. The ice cream looks so refreshing.
I have never seen a cone like that with hot fudge and nuts on top. It looks great but messy when the fudge gets on your hands. I prefer something like that in a dish or cup and maybe that sugar cone on top like a tepee
That looks delicious! We just came back from the supermarket where we bought more Turkey Hill, the perfect dessert for the heat wave we’re having.
I would love to have a real cone just like that one right now! It’s all ready a warm day & this looks so delicious.
I think it’s perfect!!!
GREAT PHOTO. LOOKS GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT. WISH I HAD THAT HERE RIGHT ABOUT NOW. IT’S A VERY HOT DAY ALREADY AND THAT IS A GOOD COOLER OFF. YUM!!!
STAY COOL EVERYONE……
Great picture, would love that cone right now, messy or not. Linda
Thats what an ice cream cone would look like right now in VA if you tried to step outside with it.
I think Tamara S has picked an excellent picture. It’s inviting, tantalizing, and something you wished you had now. You want to begin devouring it before it all drips away. Wonder what Turkey Hill flavor it is?
What a delicious looking cone; certainly wish I had one just like it right now. Guess I just have to have a regular TH ice cream cone, which are always delicious!
You picked a winner… WOW! It looks awesome!!
With the dripping chocolate so yummily captured by the camera this is a fun picture (not one I could eat unfortunately…nut & stone fruit allergies are a limiter).
Looks Yummy!!!
Now THAT’S an Ice Cream Cone–OMG!
Take me to your leader!!!!
That Cone looks so real and delious that I want to lick the screen. I am going to somehow get one of those for monday, my birthday, maybe only my Mother celebrates with me but we will enjoy it all the better. what do you think?
My mouth is watering! I want that cone.
wow thats how i end up eating mine
i could eat one now its so hot here
That certainly is a delicious looking ice cream cone and my mouth is watering. Good job, Tamara
Tamara, this is a yummy looking cone. Makes my mouth water just looking at it. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
now thats a cone!!!
That looks GREAT!!! The only solution for a drippy cone is to eat it FASTER! That’s one reason why cones are even better on a hot Summer day.
Not a bad picture, but I prefer my ice cream less drippy. Making a mess and getting sticky fingers detracts from my enjoyment of ice cream.
The icecream under the drippy chocolate looks good maybe cherry flavor. That is different than the vanilla you usually see in this type of cone. Only bad thing it is melting which I don’t like so I would HURRY and eat it someplace where it is cool!!!!
Delicious looking Cone!
In this weather, it wouldn’t take long for any cone to look like that. No drip gets past my tongue
YUM!
It really looks yummy! I wish I had it now.
Excellent choice! It’s making me drool. Although if I were to tackle that, I’d probably put the ice cream and toppings in a bowl and then break up the cone in to large pieces to use as a spoon.
i think it needs more chocolate!
Ohhhhhhh………so inviting!
Eat it quick before you lose any more of that yummy stuff.
A fudgie, strawberry sundae on a cone! Pass the whipped cream, please and don’t forget a cherry for the top.
MMMMM! NEEDS TO BE A DOUBLE SCOOP!!
Oh an action shot! I love it!
I knew I should have bought that ice cream for the family reunion! It would have been a hit–like the one in the picture.
Looks great even though I’d probably pass on the strawberries.
That looks sooooo good! Great Pic
What a cool looking picture. It almost makes me want to eat strawberry ice cream.
These pictures help me to go to my freezer and get some Turkey Hill ice Cream for myself.
I am not big on fruity flavors or nuts, so this image isn’t the best mouth watering version for me. Also, is it just me, or does the cone look really small to anyone else too? It seems like I could get all the ice cream out of the cone in 2 bites! I prefer pictures with multiple scoops of ice cream…or better yet a whole carton of ice cream! Then I know my dream won’t be over in just 30 seconds of consumption.
[...] Is it July 19 already? Wow, that means National Ice Cream Month is tw0-thirds over already. We hope everyone has had a chance to celebrate appropriately, which hopefully include a drippy ice cream cone. Speaking of drippy ice cream cone’s, the entry the other day from Tamara had a lot of people drooling over the beautiful photo she chose as the subject of her entry. We should also mention that we forgot to post the last part (and the most delicious part!) of her entry, which included her mouth-watering description of the drippy cone. I think your photo choice is great, absolutely delicious, I just want to lick it up
Glad you all enjoyed my photo choice! Thanks for the comments, and thank you Turkey Hill!

Someone should invent a drippy-cone catcher – some kind of wraparound thing that prevents it from dripping everywhere. Hey, people laughed when the first coffee-in-a-paper-cup holder came out…

It looks VERY GOOD!
Yummy Yummy Who could resist that Ice Cream cone?
