Seriously, who doesn’t love Moose Tracks ice cream? It won the 2009 Turkey Hill Ultimate Flavor Tournament, so we’re guessing just about everyone has a soft spot for the flavor that packs more peanut butter cups per scoop than any other flavor out there.
Of course, the recipe for Moose Tracks is supplied by our good friends at Denali Flavors, who invented Moose Tracks a long time ago. Since then, Denali has invented more than 30 more ice cream flavors, including Bear Claw (chocolate ice cream with chocolate covered cashews and Denali caramel), Caramel Caribou (toffee flavored ice cream with caramel cups and Denali caramel), and Otter Paws (vanilla ice cream with choco coated paw prints and luscious Denali caramel).
Now the folks at Denali have invented a new flavor and they’re asking for your help in naming it. According to the Denali press release, the flavor consists of “a tasty blend featuring rich, creamy chocolate ice cream, ribbons of signature Moose Tracks fudge and peanut butter cookie dough pieces.”
That’s right, peanut butter cookie dough. All sorts of names for that flavor come to mind, but we’ll let you think of your own. You can submit your ideas on the Moose Tracks Facebook page between August 2 and August 13. Denali will pick five finalists and then they’ll post a Facebook survey on August 16 to determine the winner. The winner will be announced on August 27 and will win a year’s supply of Moose Tracks ice cream! Good luck!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
May the best name win!
I don’t know, but it sounds sinfully delicous!
I thought of the name “SQUIRREL PATH” for your new ice cream.
I think Squirrel Cheeks would suit those ingredients!
Can’t wait to see all the fun submissions.
the link doesn’t work that goes to the facebook page..
I would say Chocolate PB Cookie Dough. It says it all, unless you add simply delicious. Sure hope to find some of that ice cream soon. Your right, I could not access the page from Moose Tracks Facebook page. Sure hope it works soon.
Wallaby tracks…I have no clue why, it just sounded good to me
I’m hoping this is for real because I ready to try it now!
Can’t wait for it to be introduced! How about Elephant Tracks? Every bit as big a hit as Moose Tracks!!
sounds great, but I am worried that I won’t be able to try any flavors, seems the Detroit area is running out ot any “Turkey Hill” flavors !!!!!
I think the new flavor should be called Grizzly Delight, it’s everything to bring out a fierce attraction to it.
mmmmm sounds delicious!
That sounds Delicious!! I really like peanut butter and chocolate!!
Turkey Hill customers have come up with some interesting names for this new ice cream flavor.
To be consistent the flavor should contain the name of a large animal or something depicting vastness. Why not Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Wilderness? However, this might be too long a name for the front of the carton. But it would be intriguing.
Mmmmm can’t wait to try it. It sounds so good. Hope to be able to post a nae soon. Those are some really good names.
Will be submitting my entry shortly. Gosh, I really want to try the Bear Claw…that sound so good.
The link still isn’t working
I’d like to know where can I find the Bear Claw and Caramel Caribou flavors…
Since it has the Moose tracks in it I think you should go with a name that is different but the same, like Elk Antlers. The peanut
butter would represent antlers.
I cannot eat Moose Tracks as it has peanut butter so I wouldn’t be able to eat this new flavor either. Allergies can be very frustrating.
New Flavor: Moose & Squirrel.
peanut squares its hard
to name ice cream
I can’t get into the facebook site, so how about Wilderness Delight I will be anxious to have some. PB caramel, chocolate, all in one? It sure is a delight.
An animal that loves peanuts and leaves a recognizable track? Well ‘Elephant Tracks’ was mentioned. How about ‘Monkey Tracks’. If it had honey in it then ‘Bear Claws, or ‘Bear Tracks’ might be appropriate. Of course, there could be the ‘Dirty Moose Tracks Delight’ or just the plain ‘Chocolate Peanut Cookie Dough Moose Tracks’.
I think the idea of all these new ice creams are great, except in our area we only get about 6 flavors and they never try new ones.If I want something different I have to eat other brands i want TURKEY HILL that is the best can someone help us, i am from NJ where we always got the new flavors. After all this time you would think i would get over it but when you like TH there is no substitute.
circus tracks surpise elephant tracks suprise pb choco tracks with dancing elephants on the carton
What about “DEER TRAILS”.
Otter hole icecream
How Does “Happy Trails” sound? Or maybe “Happy Tracks”.
I figured the name should have something to do with the Denali region in Alaska, so I kept that in mind and just submitted my ideas! *Fingers crossed* that I’m one of the finalists!
Please post the finalists on your web site and let us loyal bloggers vote right here in our “home district.”
I didn’t even know there was such an ice cream flavor as “Bear Claws”. Sounds great and when will Turkey Hill distribute it? As for the new one, how about “Squirrel Paws”?
They all sound good to me. How about “Zoo Time!”
I don’t do Facebook, but I think that “Chipmunks’ Choice” would be a nice name for the new ice cream. You could have Alvin and the Chipmunks as spokesmen.
