AUGUST PRIZE – ONE WILD ICE CREAM CONTAINER

Posted by Turkey Hill Team on August 18th, 2010

In July, Sarah from Parkville, MD wrote about her Pop Pop and the special bowl he used to eat his ice cream from. Her story is the inspiration behind this month’s prize — the Wild Eye Designs Metal Ice Cream Container. The container comes with its own spoon, which slides into the little holder on the side. It’s the size of a pint container, so you might be able to put your Turkey Hill ice cream pint right inside and use the little spoon holder as a handle!

We’ll choose one comment from all the comments left here on the Ice Cream Journal in August to receive this very cool gift! Good luck!

  18. michele says:

I would love this bowl– its so grown up :-)
My son has a little yellow bear bowl that his grandmother gave him for ice cream when he was little… as a teenager we went to a paint your own pottery place and he made a sprinkle ice cream bowl that he uses. Mom would love special bowl of her own as well! And this one is perfect for my TH splurges. (even though I most likely will not win, can you tell me where to purchase this awesome bowl?)

  19. Peggy says:

I grew up in a pretty large family….7 kids. We had very little money for treats. About once in 6-8 weeks, my dad would buy a container of ice cream and it would have to be shared amongst all of us so if we got a scoop and 1/2 we considered ourselves lucky. I would eat it as slowly as I could to savor every drop of it.
I remember how good and how special those ice cream days were and this little bowl and spoon brings back all of those memories…Thanks for the reminder! ;-)

  20. Bob Kessler Jr says:

Being metal, wouldn’t this container get cold and be difficult to hold after awhile? It reminds me of those old metal containers used for making milkshakes. You knew they were cold when you saw the condensation on the outside. Otherwise, it is a great container for holding your favorite Turkey Hill flavor.

  21. Eileen says:

Love the fact that the spoon is in the shape of an ice cream scoop! Most importantly, I love that my favorite food has now ben “imortalized” in a beautiful art form!

  22. debbie f. says:

  23. Margie says:

That deign should have been part of the PA craft fair. It is both stylish and useful. Plus it has the best use available…holding Turkey Hill ice cream!

  24. Jim in SOMD says:

Since the bowl is metal it would keep the ice cream cold. As initially the ice cream would transfer the cold to the container and then the bowl would keep the ice cream from melting. Very Cool, pun intended.

  25. jilly says:

that would be so cool, savoring every bit of turkey hill, spoonful by spoonful, diamonds n pearl’s in a swirl….i’d be in heaven with my own lil thrill…cute as can be i’ll have to wait n see.

  26. Elise says:

  86. linda says:

So, my husband, doesnt have a special container for his ice cream, at least not yet. he usually uses a coffee cup. But he does have a special spoon, that he keeps in the car, believe it or not, for those “emergency” need to have ice cream urges that often hit between the grocery store and home. A friend of ours gave him this special spoon as a birthday present (wrapped it and everything) knowing what a fanatic he was. It would be cool if he could get a special container to go with his special spoon.
ps. I love ice cream too but I have more restraint than he does, i guess. I can wait until i get home.
