A while back, we asked all of you to give one of our Giant Cows a makeover by submitting your best designs. More than 1,000 entries were received, and it wasn’t easy, but we were finally able to narrow the designs to the five finalists below. A big thanks to everyone who submitted a design and a special congratulations to our finalists!
You can vote for the finalists on the Giant Cow Makeover page of our website. Like it says on the site, in addition to having their design painted on one of our Giant Cows for the whole world to see (a pretty neat prize in itself!), the winner will also receive a one year supply of Turkey Hill Ice Cream, an ice cream party with a visit from the Giant Cow, and a two-night stay in Lancaster County to attend the new Turkey Hill Experience grand opening this spring.
That’s a nice prize, so make sure you vote (you can vote once a day until March 1) and then come back here and leave a comment letting us know who you voted for!

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
I love your ice cream!
Though All of them should be winners..I choose #4
oh gosh they all look so great. For me though it’s between #1 and #3. number one is so colorful and makes you want to eat turkey hill ice cream day and night. And #3 is nice it pic the farm scene showing where it all starts. Hard decision. But I think number one is my vote.
I chose #4 too — it really represents a cow and is cute.
I choose #4 because it looks like a guersey cow with the nice designs of the dairy products. the others looked junkey
I like #3!
So much for thinking I am unique – I, too, agree that #4 should be the winner!
#3 for me
Think I’m going with #1. I like the idea that the sun, moon and stars love Turkey Hill too …
I agree with most of the other votes as well. # 4 is a great design.
Number 4!1 !! They are all wonderful
#1 all the way!
I really like #4, a real creative cow
I vote for #3. I think it makes sense, because Lancaster county is farm country. Good Luck!!!
I voted for No. 1! To me, it says, you can eat Turkey Hill ice cream, Morning, Noon & Nite! Its good any time!
I also would vote for #4…would have hard choice if choosing a runner up
I chose #4 because it looks like ice cream, and the others all look like billboards printed on a cow!!
great fun even better contest thanks turkey hill
I like #1 or #2, of course they are all great and they are all winners!!!
A cow is a cow, not a bunch of silly colors. Give me #4, sensible and showing all products of Turkey Hill. Wish I was an artist, I would love to win the ice cream
I really like #2, but #3 reminds me of the ice cream packaging, so I vote for #3. #4 is very creative.
I vote for #2. Plain and simple!
I like #3. It is new yet keeping with the original theme of Turkey Hill.
I like #4 the best. Maybe it is because Chocolate Ice Cream has always been my favorite. It still is!
I like number 5 it’s what turkey hill is all about different flavors of Ice cream in Turkey hill ice cream containers.
i like no 2 hope it wins
When I imagined my design, I thought I would do something colorful. Never got around to it, but honestly I like the least colorful, #4. It is cool!
I like design #4. It shows products and a farm but still looks like a cow. The design is not very busy.
Sorry, I can’t choose–they’re all great!
there all great, but my vote goes to…drum roll please…..#4
I like number 3
They are all very creative, but I vote for #3.
You just have to love number 4-a brown cow with appropriate TH theme. Good luck to all!
Number 4. Does it give chocolate milk for chocolate ice cream?
#4 is best.
Good Morning Turkey Hill fans
I love them all but #3 the brown cow I love the best
Hard to choose — liked them all. I really liked the artistry of #1 but ended up voting for #2. It had a retro feel that I liked, plus is wasn’t too “busy”. So far it is in last place though.
[...] love Turkey Hill ice cream? Well, they are seeking your advice on the redesign of their Giant Cow. Check out the website to vote for your favorite. Our favorite is number 4 – be sure to vote [...]
I like #4.
vote early, vote often and may the best cow win.
I like #3 because it is definitely acknowledges the brand, and incorporates the traditional black and white cow that some I know are sad to see go from the giant cow! Great job to all… a lot of hard work has been put into these!
I loved them all, but #5 is the best, ice cream rules!
I love them all, but my vote is #5, ice cream rules!
I love #2 but they are all winners and very creative!
Loving #4!!
Loving #4
They are all great! I like #3 because it looks like Turkey Hill. But I voted for #4 because it’s very creative and includes Turkey Hill products (not just ice cream).
I choose #3
As the designer/artist of COW #1, I hesitated to send this Blog, but as the Contest continues, I realized I had a message I really wanted to send before the last vote was cast. I would like to take this time to say \KUDOS\ to artists #2 thru #5 !! CONGRATULATIONS !! Win or lose, at the end, we should all be proud. GOOD LUCK to each of you…….JOB WELL DONE !!!!!
I vote #3 Where it all began!!
I’m just crazy about Cow #1 – absolutely beautiful artwork and a cool theme, too! I’d love to see the Giant Cow going from town to town wearing Design #1!
Loving number 4! Wow very cool, slick and clean. Great concept! They are all great. Good Luck!
I have to agree – Cow Number 1 is my favorite, too! Great job, and I hope everyone is enjoying the contest
)
My favorite cows are #1 and #3. Cow #3 is pretty nice, but my votes will ultimately go for Cow #1 – it’s “out of this world!”
I surely am enjoying all of the artwork. What a fun contest, Turkey Hill! One question, though – does Cow #5 have the word “recipes” written all over its legs (I guess I need new bifocals!), and if so – why? Well, I can’t wait to see who wins! Go, Giant Cow, go!
I’m sorry to see that the cow design I submitted was not chosen as a finalist. For my design, the Giant Cow would have been adorned with the Cullen Family Crest, a sign that said “Forks is no place for cows,” and of course the Giant Cow would have sparkled in the sunlight as it traveled from town to town. Oh well, it’s probably for the best.
Bella, no! You’ve said too much. This contest is international – the Volturi in Italy might see your blog entry and come to Forks! Your Giant Cow design sounds cool, though. Bella, you are my life now. You are everything.
All of the designs are very nice, however I would have to go with #3. It actually says Turkey Hill on it. #1 is very cool, but no where on the cow does it say Turkey Hill. My vote is for #3.
You wouldn’t have to change for me, Bella. Pick me. Pick me, and then we can enjoy Turkey Hill ice cream for the rest of our lives, together. Remember, the Cullens can’t enjoy Turkey Hill’s delicious products. Has anyone seen my shirt?
Wow, very cool contest. Number one is totally awesome except for the giant green squid with the ice cream cone, still got my vote.
Feed the Hungry!!!!!!!! WV.
Hey Martini….that’s not a giant green squid, it’s the good ole earth, the one we live on!!!!!…..lol……and COW NUMBER 1 is the most awesome design, a little outta the box, but creative and beautiful…..would love to see THAT Giant Cow travelin down the highway………GO COW #1!!!!!!!!!
I agree Tillie; but #1 would look so much nicer on my Harley Davidson..
ps. poor squid
Super Idea. I love them all but #1 is my pick. Also I love your Banana Split Ice Cream. Its a great flavor and glad it is still in the Turkey Hill stores. My husband loves the Red Raspberry. Good luck and have a super day and smile each time
because you always get one back. MAM
I have to say Cow #3 is my favorite–clear, creative design and best BRANDNG for the company!!!
I love #3 because at a glance it has everthing that represents TURKEY HILL.
What a great ice cream!! There is a flavor for everyone.
I’ll pay $100.00 for the original #1 drawing. Must be signed by the author!
ok, $200 final offer?
Thanks for the offer, but the original is the property of Turkey Hill now, sorry. I am sooo VERY PROUD of my sister Jen for being the artist of design #1…..and the friends, and friends of friends, and all of our families who voted, being honest and trustworthy with their votes….to us, her votes went into the millions!!!! Having no formal schooling or aught how to draw, Jen’s art happens with her hands, but first starts in her heart!!!! Thanks to Turkey Hill for a contest that was so much fun!!
I understand; I will now donate the $200 to the Humane Society of America. I have a funny feeling your sis loves animals.
)
She better not own any fur coats! (that was a joke.
Good Bye.
