It’s time once again for some weird and wacky ice cream news. As usual, three of these stories are true and one was made up by the Turkey Hill team. Guess which story is the fake by leaving a comment!
- WATCH OUT, IT’S THE ICE CREAM MAN! -- A Tampa Bay, Florida ice cream truck driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol recently after concerned onlookers reported his erratic driving. When pulled over by police, the driver staggered out of the ice cream truck and recited his birth date when the deputy asked for his address. Police found two opened bottles of whiskey in the ice cream truck, which likely contributed to the driver’s 0.22 blood alcohol content being nearly three times the legal limit.
- PLEASE DO NOT EAT YOUR SMART PHONE -- The tech wizards over at Google have been hard at work on the newest operating system for the company’s Google Android smart phones. Earlier this month, the Google folks unveiled the operating system, which has been named Ice Cream Sandwich. The frosty software, which includes an ice cream sandwich-like logo, is expected to hit the market in select Google devices later this year.
- AND NOW THE WORLD RECORD FOR THE WORLD’S LARGEST BRAIN FREEZE -- Graduate students from the University of Toronto’s food engineering laboratory helped to set a Guinness Book of World Record on May 10 with the creation of the world’s largest ice cream cake. Once fully assembled, the cake weighed over 10 metric tons (nine tons of which was ice cream), eclipsing the earlier record holder by over two metric tons.
- SOUNDS LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE TO US! — A Sioux City, Iowa man made headlines recently after completing one year of what he calls “The Extreme Ice Cream Diet.” The 45-year-old high school health teacher consumed nothing but ice cream during the 12 month period as a way to gauge the effects of certain diets on the human body. The self-described “fitness fanatic” gained only five pounds during the year and claimed his favorite flavor — which he will continue to eat — was chocolate chip cookie dough.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
Even though I really like ice cream , I believe # 4 to be the fake
I think story 2 is the fake. The others all sound possible.
I hope it is not #1 but it probably is. My guess is #2; the smart phone Android.
This was atough one because #3 sounds like an overkill, seeings how they supposedly broke the record by 25%, nbut then #4 is about a health teacher eating nothing but ice cream for a whole year? Wow! Those seem to good to be true, so TH probably would not have used either as the fake. I therefore guess #2
I think the fake story is #1. This one was tough as they all seem plausible.
#2 is fake
Number 1 (about the ice cream truck driver, who was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol) is the fake story.
My guess is # 2
Is this out of “Unsolved Mysteries?” Too weird for me.
#4 has to be fake, no one can eat 1 thing for a year
#4 is a fake, only putting on 5 lbs. Hard to believe
#4 has to be fake. I don’t think any person having eaten that much ice cream could stick to cookie dough as their favorite flavor. It’s good, but it’s nowhere near a favorite of mine.
I would have to guess that number 4 is the false story. It doesn’t say how much ice cream he ate daily or even for the year. Can only ice cream provide all the nutrients you need to exist? Being a health teacher he should know better.
#4 is not true.
I THINK # 2 IS THE FAKE.
TIME WILL TELL…………
I say #3 as the ice cream would melt before the cake was finished and would not be able to weigh it or cut it.
I think it’s #2 or I’ll eat my phone!
I think it is #2 The Smart Phone.
I’m going with #2 as false. Although, now that you gave them the idea, I’ll be watching for the new system.
I would hope #1 is not true.
I also think the false one is #2. I know my brother went on a beer diet and actually lost weight, so I think it’s possible with ice cream. Lots of nutritious stuff in ice cream.
I’ll have to say #2 is fake. Can’t imagine anyone doing that.
whatever.. 4 is fake..it is sure
I say it’s number 2.
