Ice cream and chocolate. We can probably all agree that the two treats are among the best foods on the planet, but what happens when you combine them? We’re about to find out with this year’s Ultimate Holiday Recipe Contest: Chocolate Overload Edition, which awards a one year supply of Turkey Hill ice cream to the winner.
In past Ultimate Holiday Recipe Contests, we asked you to use our holiday-themed Limited Edition flavors, but this year’s recipe contest is even simpler (and tastier):
You can use any Turkey Hill ice cream flavor you’d like, but the recipe has to include one key ingredient – chocolate.
Your recipe can be a drink, a pie, a cake, or something entirely different! The only requirements are that it includes Turkey Hill ice cream – preferably as a main ingredient – and lots of chocolate. If you have allergies to chocolate (first of all, you have our deepest sympathies), feel free to submit a recipe anyhow … but have a friend serve as your taste-tester!
E-mail your entries, along with your name and address, to icecreamjournal@gmail.com before midnight on Friday, November 25 to be entered to win the grand prize – a one year supply of Turkey Hill ice cream. At that time, we’ll choose our four favorite recipes (each of whom will receive a one month supply of ice cream) which will be posted here on the Ice Cream Journal. Blog readers will then vote to determine the winner.
As always, you can submit as many recipes as you’d like. And remember: There’s no such thing as “too much chocolate.”

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

It’s going to take a real imagination to come up with a winning recipe. I enjoyed last year’s entries. Maybe this year I’ll take the time and try to come up with a winning entry.

My favorite time of year. I believe that all deserts are calory free from Halloween until after January first. Of course the first thing you eat on January 2 is full of calories and that is where all of your weight gain occurs.
