It’s time for us to announce the winner of our Ultimate Holiday Recipe Contest (Chocolate Overload Edition), we’d like to thank, one more time, all the people who submitted recipes in this year’s contest. We honestly had a very difficult time choosing the four finalist recipes because every single submission was THAT good.
Have we stalled long enough for dramatic effect? Good. The winner of the 2011 Ultimate Holiday Recipe Contest (Chocolate Overload Edition) is…
Teressa C. of Dayton, NJ and her Fudge Merri-Mints ice cream sandwiches!
Congrats Teressa! Her Fudge Merri-Mints (recipe here and photo below) battled Hidemi’s Sweet Potato Ice Cream Chocolate Pie (recipe here), Connie’s Chocolate Strawberry Cherry Parfait (recipe here), and Mary’s Triple Chocolate Ice Cream Crepes (recipe here). Each finalist will receive a one month supply of Turkey Hill Ice Cream and, for her victory, Teressa gets a one year supply of Turkey Hill Ice Cream.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.

Congrats Teressa. I voted for you, recipe easy to make and so delicious. I have made these in the past, just filled with any ice cream I had on hand, store bought cookies.

Any recipe that has ice cream in it is enough to make my family merry, but when you add fudge you’re talking serious bliss. Thank you for sharing your creativity. Carol R

Anything with MINT is a winner in this house!!!
What a lifesaver Turkey Hill Egg Nog is!! I normally have my morning coffee with light cream or half and half. A few weeks ago I ran out – but I DID have Turnkey Hill Egg Nog in my refrigerator. Can I tell you how delicious it is in your coffee?
Just the right amount of flavor. I LOVE this time of year!!!!
We love our Turkey Hill Mint Choc Chip all year long!!

I sure would’ve had a hard tome picking a winner from these delicious sounding recipes! However, being the “sweet potatoe momma” I am, I would’ve dug into that recipe..without a wisp of doubt! Congratulations Terresa on your magnificant minty masterPiece!

Teressa’s Fudge Merri-Mints ice cream sandwiches look good. I guess I’ll have to try making them one of these days. The link to her recipe above is not working though!
This winning entry looks like an ice cream version of smores. If you like smores you’ll enjoy Teressa’s recipe even more.
It looks and sounds delicious! I’m going to try to make it someday in the upcoming weeks!
Theresa,
Great job! These look great. I am going to have to try these.
my 2-year old nephew tried icecream (Turkey Hill vanilla) for the first time. His expression exuded pure joy as he softly and slowly whispered Dddddlishus. It must be genetic.
Yumm looks so delicious hehe!!!
oh yes, I’ll be trying it!
chocolate and mint combination sounds like a winner as some of our family loves mint. the other recipes sound great too.
Wow! I love chocolate and mint. No wonder this recipe won!
Yes, my son is making the trek from NY–so we may have to make it for him. He and I love chocolate and mint.
Just thought you should know my six year old triplets won’t eat anything but Turkey Hill. We usually stock up when they are on sale. They love chocolate anything but mint.

I bet they taste even better than they look! <3 I love Turkey Hill ice cream! <3
I’m still trying to find a combo of vanilla ice cream with a ribbon of raspberry through it.
Congrats, Teressa! They look like they’re delicious!!
Congrats! Sounds delicious! I am not good @ baking anymore. I leave that to my daughter & grand-daughters. I will pass it on. Although a day without Turkey Hill ice cream is like a day without sunshine to me! It is a bedtime ritual!
da liciouso!
Sounds good
Congrats, Teressa! Chocolate and mint together is always a winning combination! I will have to try making it sometime soon. Maybe for New Years!
Congratulations, Teressa…they look delicious. I look forward to trying these and several of the other recipes shared. Happy Holidays!
Turkey Hill Ice Cream is the #1 ice cream! I love all the flavors!
I have waited for years for a Turkey Hill (ice cream)sandwich and have not seen one. I suggest that you begin to produce the TURKEY (HILL) SANDWICH available wherever the larger Turkey Hill ice cream products are sold. Two packs offered for about one dollar would be a great summer time treat and a cool winter reminder of a great summer,
I will definitely be trying this recipe congrats on winning
They look delicious! Congrats!
Congratulations Teressa and all the other finalists. Mint is always a hit in our home. Your winning entry sure sounds tastey!
Congrats Teressa. Sounds yummy. Will have to try it after the holidays. Too many cookies, cakes and Turkey Hill right now. In January, we will need some desserts.

Congratulations Teressa. I can only imagine what fun it was to judge this contest.
Looks good, but I’m a purist. I’ll take my Turkey Hill straight from the container!

Mint and Christmas..you bet I will make this!
It looks good, but I prefer my ice creram untouched by lesser treats. I will try them just for fun, but will ultimately separate the cookies from the ice cream and eat them individually.

Looks and sounds great! I’m upping the ante by adding Bavarian Espresso to this dessert!
I have been trying to get the recipes, but the links keep taking me to a dead link
The only problem with all these recipes is that my pants will no longer fit when I am done. But I have to test them out. If I don’t, who will. The pioneers take the arrows I guess.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL YOU WINNERS.
Congratulations to you! It looks delicious!
This recipe will be used on CHRISTmas eve!
Your eggnog is simply the best. I have yet to find the eggnog ice cream, can’t wait!!!
