The 3rd Day of Ice Cream: The ice cream magnet (and how a Turkey Hill freezer keeps hockey pucks chilled)

Posted by Turkey Hill Team on December 16th, 2011

The refrigerator, in addition to being a place to store delicious food and ice cream, is a place to display all sorts of artwork, lists, photos and other mementos (on the outside of the fridge, not the inside). Today’s prize – a hand made ice cream magnet – is a contribution to that collection. The magnet is the green one featured in the photo above and is made by Etsy seller Yaelel 365, who notes in the magnet’s description that it’s approximately 7 cm tall (almost 3 inches).

We’ll choose one comment at random from all of the comments left on this entry to receive this magnetic memento along with some free Turkey Hill ice cream. Good luck!

Speaking of refrigerators (or, in this case, freezers), it’s a little known fact that hockey pucks are stored in a freezer prior to being used in a game. Using a warm “biscuit” would cause the puck to bounce on the ice, and that’s not good. The Hershey Bears professional hockey team chills their pucks in Turkey Hill freezer (see photo on the right and article here).

Turkey Hill and the Bears are teaming up this Sunday, December 18, for “Turkey Hill Experience Night” at the Giant Center. Tickets are available online or at the game. As part of the night’s festivities, the first 3,000 fans will receive a $10 gift card redeemable at the Turkey Hill Experience. We hope to see you there!
