To date, pretty much all of our recipes have used ice cream as the key ingredient, but we decided to switch things up a bit with a simple and delicious recipe that uses sherbet.
The great things about this recipe are that it’s simple (that’s always nice!) and it allows you to use whichever flavor of sherbet you’d like. Turkey Hill offers two flavors of sherbet to choose from: Orange Grove and Fruit Rainbow. The rainbow sherbet contains lemon-lime, orange and raspberry flavors, so you can take your pick of which flavor to use. You’ll only need two cups, which is about how much of each flavor is in the rainbow variety!
If anyone makes this sweet treat, let us know how it turns out!
SUMMERTIME SHERBET PIE
INGREDIENTS

- 1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow creme
- 2 cups sherbet, softened (your choice of flavors)
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1 (9 inch) graham cracker crust
DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and marshmallow creme until smooth. Stir in sherbet. Fold in whipped topping. Pour into crust. Freeze until firm. Remove from the freezer 10 minutes before serving. The pie may be frozen for up to 3 months.

If you’ve got a technical question about the ice cream making process or some other inquiry about the nuances of America’s favorite treat, chances are Ernie has the answer. He might not be able to answer all questions, but he’ll try his best and some may be featured on the Ice Cream Journal.
