Animals eating ice cream: A monkey!

This should come as no surprise, but humans aren’t the only species on Earth that loves ice cream. Of course, we know dogs and cats have a sweet tooth (mainly because of the generosity of their human companions), but did you know monkeys also love ice cream?

The video above, shot in Malaysia by a tourist, is proof. The little guy in the video seems pretty content with this frosty treat, doesn’t he? If we had to guess, we’d say the ice cream must be banana flavored!

  16. Carol B. says:

My grandson dripped ice cream on my deck this summer. I saw a squirrel later in the day trying to lick it up. I put empty peanut butter jars out for them once in awhile. It’s hilarious watching them trying to get half way in the jar to get every last bit. My cat loved vanilla ice cream or butter pecan…. minus the pecans. The dog would lay her head on my lap watching me eat every spoonful. Her eyes would follow each spoonful. It was a fight between the two to see who got the leftover in the bowl. I ended up putting a spoonful in another dish and splitting the two up.

  17. Caroline of Manalapan says:

Monkeys in studies picked stocks better than the experts so they must be smart enough to know ice cream is tasty even if it is not TH

  19. Jim in SOMD says:

If we believe in evolution, then monkeys are a close relative to humans. Therefore, why would they not like almost everything that we humans like. While not everyone likes every flavor of ice cream, most everyone likes at least one flavor. It guess they had the right flavor for this monkey.

Years and years ago, I remember watching an orangutan eating an ice cream pop in the Central Park Zoo. I don’t know if it was supplied to him by his zookeepers or if a patron show him some mercy on a hot summer day. Also, my cat always sits and stares at me waiting to lick my empty ice cream bowl and to think that some people think that animals are dumb.
