POLL: What’s your favorite part about the Big Game?

Posted by Turkey Hill Team on January 29th, 2013

The Big Game is coming up this weekend, so we thought we take this time to remind everyone that although we don’t make an ice cream flavor for either of the two teams playing in the game, we do make a football flavor – Touchdown Sundae.

It’s vanilla ice cream spiked with peanut butter choco footballs and swirls of peanut butter and chocolatey fudge. Sounds like a good addition to your football party line-up, doesn’t it?

We’d also like your opinion about a debate that’s currently raging between a few members of the Turkey Hill team. Some of us think that best part of the Big Game is the game itself, while others thing the best part is the commercials. And then there’s a third group who thinks the best part is the party food!

Which of those three game day ingredients are you looking forward to the most? Sound off with your opinion in our poll on the right and leave a comment below!

the best part is the food–hands down–but this year the actual game is a close second since Baltimore’s quarterback grew up not too far from us and went to college with one of our daughters!!

  2. Robin Ames says:

I don’t watch unless my team, the Cowboys, make it. Sigh. So… no favorite part!!

  3. Heather Bruinsma says:

The food and the commercials and of course Turkey Hill ice cream. :)

  6. millie says:

first the food chilli corn bread cheese snacks then turkey hill sundies with what ever you want on them

  7. carol from columbia md says:

The food and our wide variety of Maryland micro-brewed beers, of course! Grape sorbet is always a great palate cleanser for those tender spicy wings and luscious CRABS!

After the game,I wish TH would consider a black cherry/pecan combination (heavy on the pecans, please). A little taste of spring, and a good natural energy boost from the nuts.

Thank you for making yourself available in Md., and bring on some more coupons, please!

  8. Bill Oeller says:

Food and friendship. Only wish we had Turkey Hill in Texas. We do get Tastykake here now.

  9. LindaR says:

It’s all about the food at our party, complete with a Turkey Hill ice cream bar! Even if everybody’s fav team loses, everyone wins & enjoys the food & ice cream.

  10. leecarr says:

my favorite part is about the ads; if you want to be noticed, do something cute, cleaver, tricky or just plain funny on a super bowl advertisement and I will love it

  11. Carol B. says:

The game- if my team the Browns would ever make it in my lifetime! I generally have the game on and glance at it occasionally, but tune in for the commercials when they come on. Good food is always a must!! Not a Ravens fan..so I will not be rooting for them!!

  12. Sheila says:

I host a Super Bowl party for my family every year. It’s all about having fun (games & food) because none of us really care about football! It’s just an excuse to get together. So my favorite part: having fun with family!

  13. Ellis Frye says:

    This year-RAVENS. drinks, commercials, food

  14. Andrea says:

Since the Steelers aren’t playing, the commercials and lots of TH will be my favorite parts. However, it should be interesting to see the brother coaches reaction. Should be a great game!

  15. Mary says:

I agree with Andrea. Since the Steelers aren’t playing, the commercials will be my favorite part.

  16. Jim in SOMD says:

The football being played on the field is what I am waiting to see. If however it becomes a blowout, then the food and company are a nice second. The commercials are always interesting, but for the most part, you will see tehm again and again throughout the coming months. Hoping that someday the league will finally set the schedule so the game is played on the Sunday before President’s Day so we do not have to worry about going to work the next morning.

  17. Juliette says:

Food & TH ice cream ! I’m not into Football…the men are, so I will eat all the ice cream while they watch the game!!!! HAHAHA…

Winning the money from the office’s Super Bowl Pool! :-)

  19. Patti Sherman says:

The team(Baltimore), the commercials and my bowl of coffee ice cream with hot fudge!

  20. Sarah says:

Not a pro football fan – only follow Penn State, so I’d say the party aspect of the day with good food. Now if I can only convince my annual host to have a sundae bar with Turkey Hill!

  21. Lou says:

The commercials and half time show.

  22. Quint Reitzel says:

Sorry to say I’ll not have this for the game. Everything here shows up months later here in Virginia Beach Va. Last week I finally got that delicious Pumkin Pie

  23. Norma says:

While the serious football watchers are glued to the TV, I can sneak as much Turkey Hill as I want unnoticed. That’s the best part of Super Bowl Sunday. (or sundae). Actually, that bowl of Turkey Hill is SUPER on any Sunday!

  24. Charlie Kimball says:

RAVENS will bring home the trophy and then I can eat some TOUCHDOWN SUNDAE with my family

It means football is over for the year. YAYYYYYY!!!!!

  27. Nancy N says:

    Food, family and friends! :-)

  28. Ann King says:

I actually like to watch the game, I like football and will be sorry when it comes to an end next weekend. How can you watch anything exciting without food, friends and that wonderful Turkey Hill Touchdown Sundae. Everyone likes that, young and old.

  29. Donna Young says:

Well, we are hosting a party this year with plenty of Turkey Hill “Touchdown Sundae”

  30. Barb says:

I like watching Halftime with some Turkey Hill Ice Cream!

  31. Joan Trautwein says:

Definitely the family, food, brownies, the game and TH ice cream. This year it will be the new Touchdown flavor.

  32. Harriet G says:

My choice of the three is the food.

  33. Diane Pietrak says:

My husband and I have been building our dream home for over sixteen years, and by the time the game draws near we will finally be moved in and finished. I can finally relax, and enjoy a bunch of stupid commercials,I’m soooo excited.

  34. Elsie Nicolette says:

The commercials are my fav. Most of the rest of the time I will fast forward and skip the ads.

  35. Bob Kessler Jr says:

I would pick the game itself. Why? Because I am in a pool and could win some money if I have the correct score at the end of the quarters.

  36. jay says:

The best part would be having Turkey Hill ice cream!

  37. Kathleen says:

Love the commercials! The halftime show is usually great, too! The ultimate, though, is watching my 85 year old mother-in-law holler at the players. Just love it1

The best part is the TH Ice Cream Bar I have!!! Touchdown Sunday with 3 or 4 more flavors and an assortment of toppings perfect for children and adults!!! Delish!!!

  50. CHRISTINE says:

OH THE PUPPY BOWL FOR ME TOO. IT IS ADORABLE.

  51. Carol says:

The ads are the best. I don’t have to watch the game to see them. You can watch them on You tube the next day. I still will fix the snacks for my hubby.I will catch up on my DVR recordings. If I had to pick a team to win it would be the 49ers.

  52. Lois Sidelnick says:

Not into football that much but will watch for smething to do. Food (snacks) during game, then half time. Thst’s enough for me.

  53. Pam says:

It all depends on which teams are playing. This year the importance will be 1)Ravens; 2)food; 3)commercials. When I don’t care about the teams, the order is 1)food; 2)commercials; 3)friends.

    Nothing.

  55. Bobi says:

I’m a Jets fan so I guess I’ll vote for the commercials! Actually, my favorite sport is racing…I’m waiting for the Daytona 500. When are you going to make a NASCAR flavor with chocolate covered cars racing thru my Turkey Hill?

  56. Marilou says:

    The end!

  57. Regina says:

I agree with Pam. It depends on which teams are playing. This year for me it will simply be food, commercials and sharing with friends…although on a lower note than some years.
