The wait is over and it’s time to unveil the four finalists in our Ultimate Holiday Recipe Contest! True to the contest’s theme, all four of the recipes you’ll see this week use our All Natural Ice Cream as a key ingredient. We whipped up each of the four finalist recipes and took pictures and will feature each of them here on the Ice Cream Journal over the next four days. On Friday, we’ll open up the polls to let you vote for the finalist who should take home the grand prize – a one year supply of Turkey Hill Ice Cream!
Apple Pie Ice Cream Squares
DESCRIPTION: A tasty layered treat made with graham cracker crust topped with apple pie filling, caramel and All Natural Butter Almond Ice Cream.

3 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 can (20-ounce) apple pie filling
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 cup caramel topping
1 quart Turkey Hill Butter Almond Ice Cream
1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
In a medium mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and sugar. Press into a 13 x 9 baking dish. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely. Add cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger to apple pie filling. Spread filling over cooled graham cracker crust. Evenly drizzle caramel topping over pie filling. Spread softened ice cream over other layers and top with toasted pecans. Freeze for at least four hours or overnight. Remove from freezer and allow to thaw for 15 minutes. Serve immediately. Makes 12 bars.
