Help preserve a Lancaster County farm

picTurkey Hill Dairy relies on the hard work of Lancaster County farmers to supply the milk and cream that are used in our products. Because we were founded by a farmer 85 years ago, we also know firsthand the hard work that goes into supplying those ingredients. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Lancaster Farmland Trust to help preserve some of the farmland right here in our own backyard.

Over the past two decades years, Turkey Hill has donated more than $500,000 to the Lancaster Farmland Trust. We’re proud to take that fundraising relationship to a new level with our “Preserve a Farm” program. (Check out the video below for a closer look at the program.)

Under the Preserve a Farm program, Turkey Hill will match each donation made by fans on our website, and the money raised will be used to preserve a 63-acre Amish pumpkin farm in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County.

As part of our 85th anniversary celebration, our fundraising goal is $85,000, which includes $42,500 in matching funds. To learn more, and to make a donation, visit the Preserve a Farm page of our website. Thanks in advance, and stay tuned here on the blog and on our Facebook page for updates throughout the year!

This is really good to hear. So much farmland is being destroyed due to development. Many people do not realize how important it is to preserve farmland to protect our food supply. I am glad to hear that Turkey Hill still supports and values the local farmer. Please don’t sell out to the big corporations as so many other ice cream companies have done. Your product not only has great tastes, but coming from local farms keeps the purity.
