Ultimate Flavor Tournament (Round Three): Peanut butter, pecans, snicker doodles, and choco peanuts

Posted by Turkey Hill Team on May 24th, 2017

Of all the rounds in the Ultimate Flavor Tournament, round three is usually the most hard-fought. That’s because the eight flavors in round three are battling to make it to the “Frosty Four.” And the Frosty Four is one step away from the final match-up. What we’re trying to say is, today’s match-ups matter a whole lot.

Cast your vote in the polls in the right hand sidebar of the blog AND leave a comment with your favorites. At the end of the tournament, we’ll choose one comment at random from all the comments left during the tournament to win a ONE YEAR supply of ice cream!

And don’t forget, we’re also posting match-ups on our Facebook page, so follows us there and cast your votes for another chance to win the grand prize!

Peanut Butter Marshmallow vs. Pecan Snapper

PEANUT BUTTER MARSHMALLOW (1997-2007) – Peanut butter ice cream swirled with chunks of peanut butter cookie dough and whipped marshmallow

PECAN SNAPPER (1998-1999, 2001) – Butter pecan ice cream swirled with pecans, milk chocolate chips, and creamy caramel

EXPERT ANALYSIS: This match-up is a good example of why these late rounds are so tough. Both are fantastic flavors. On one hand, you’ve got peanut butter ice cream swirled with chunks of peanut butter cookie dough. That’s right, peanut butter cookie dough! Normally, a flavor like that would be a slam dunk to win, but it’s facing off against a challenger made with butter pecan ice cream swirled with pecans, chocolate chips and caramel. It’s a good thing we don’t have to vote in this one.

Snicker Doodle Dandy vs. Tin Lizzie Sundae

SNICKER DOODLE DANDY (1996-2000) – Cinnamon ice cream with snicker doodle cookies and swirls of cinnamon caramel

TIN LIZZIE SUNDAE (1991-1995) – Our original vanilla ice cream with caramel fudge and choco peanuts

EXPERT ANALYSIS: With these two former flavors, you’ve got almost the entire decade of the 90s represented. Tin Lizzie Sundae carried the torch from 1991-1995 and then Snicker Doodle Dandy ran with it from 1996 into the new millennium. Our prediction for the winner? Snicker Doodle Dandy has played hard throughout the tournament, which is why it’ll probably take home the win in this one.

My wife is originally from Lancaster Pennsylvania and her and her family’s been buying it a lot longer than 20 years years and introduced it to me. We Live in North Carolina and during the early 2000’s Kroger grocery stores were the only store to sell turkey Hill ice cream. Now there are more grocery stores selling turkey hill in the area. It’s a tradition in our house to have a small bowl of turkey Hill ice cream after dinner.

Tell me what happened to Liberty we loved that! And tell me why there are less chocolate Im the Choco Mint Chip ice cream. Turkey Hill you’ve always been the best and let’s keep it that way!
